alpha GB 2.3 aosp

ha its the 1ghz processors in the newer phones. the hero tops out at 512 stock, however for the most part stable up to about 710, although so people have had success up to 768

I think you meant 528 MHz stock. But what is a few megahertz between friends? :D

I remember reading andygu3 was able to get a miraculous 1 MHz more to 787 MHz using a custom kernel. I just forget which one. ;)

a few were able to get over 768 with AOSP Kernal -
Even those that did said speeds slowed down over 768 -

Damn that was fast just posted 1.5 last night, anyways main post edited already, have you loaded it Andy yet ?

Not yet, was having trouble downloading to phone directly so I just transfered download from computer to phone. Will be flashing soon:)

Have most of the things that were not working been ironed out in this build? I have been wanting to give Android 2.3 a whirl.

I suppose you guys also heard that Android 2.4 is likely an update that will also carry the Gingerbread nomenclature, kind of like how Android 2.0 and 2.2 were Eclair. I heard it will have some speed increases and a few more graphical changes.

Yep heard about it, but we will be on new phones by then, LOL :D

Eh, I am sure the Android 2.4 updates will be quickly integrated into the current Android 2.3 ROM. Remember, Android 2.0 and Android 2.1 were released within just over two months of each other. :)

I am sure I will still have my Sprint HTC Hero in that amount of time. Maybe you will not though. ;)

Like the new update to 1.6, no troubles here except no camera. I do like that with all my apps from 2.2, I now have 100mb of free space on 2.3.1. Something changed from aospMod to aospGB, whatever it is , I like it:D:D

Wow! It looks like the AOSP Android 2.3 ROM solved the space deficiency problem. :D

That is great. I will definitely be giving this a try soon! :)

so whats the consensus on this latest build? camera the only thing not fully functional at this point? GPS working? I keep looking over at xda and the last 15 pages are completely worthless

I will believe it when I see it :D

It's fine for daily for me, gmail is what caused an issue for me. Now that's fixed, I'm happy:D

Not everyday for me just yet, still going to wait until it is more stable, need camera for me, I use it everyday, but it seems like it is getting there, have you tried making WiFi calls with it yet, and if yes does it work ?/

Also let me kn ow if conference calling works with this build ??

Camera no work:( This build is snappy as hell:D:D
:D Another thing I noticed, disabled JIT and lowered VM Heap to 24m from 32m in 1.6

Anyone who has not tried GB, I highly recommend;)

I tried out the latest GB rom and the latest gapps today, GB worked fine(except for the camera) no problems there, but my market stopped working. Has anyone else had problems with the market? I reloaded my daily rom and tried the new gapps (20110107) and had the same results. the market opens to a white screen for literally a second and then goes right back to my home screen.

Any feedback would be much appreciated.
