Amazon App Store Thread - Daily Free Apps

"Bought" the free app "Cozi" today, looks like a deal. I'll install it as soon as it goes apps2SD. Happy with "Gemini Calendar" and "Check and Done" for now they do what I need.

This thread seems pretty dead. "JogTracker Pro" today, seems like a good, very simple and small app for walking, jogging or cycling. All the others I've tried are real memory hogs. The free "Pro" versions says it's just a key, so you need to download the free version first. I downloaded from Market and seems to work; wasn't sure if I needed to download the free from Amazon to get them to link, it appears to be OK without using the Amazon version.

You also can download Sudokube after you download the Pro key from Amazon and get it free: Sudokube Demo - 3D Sudoku - Android app on AppBrain

Yeah, this thread was really popular when I first started it, but the interest has really died off. I am starting to wonder why I even update the OP every day.

I read the thread every day. I even tried to talk about one or two of the applications. No one else chimed in, so I stopped. I felt like a nerd.

As for today's app, I plan on seeing if I can run it and CardioTrainer at the same time to see which one is more accurate. CardioTrainer has had some complaints about being off, so it should be interesting to see if it's true.

Please dont let that stop you:)
<---- looks at my post count, i'm always talking to my self around here:)

Seriously though, i think half the problem is that most of these apps suck, i'm enjoying a few of the games (so is my daughter) other than that i havent got a lot of use out of it

For most of these, there really isn't anything to talk about. Just a crap app that the developer gets paid 20% of the price for users to download for free.

Well, other than the overwhelming abundance of games, I don't know if I'd say most of them suck versus at this particular time, I don't have a need for them. For example, last year, the car maintenance app would've been great, at least up until a jerk t-boned me and totaled my car.

I didn't get my phone until May 3, so I came in just after the great Business Calendar. I ended up with the calendar by following an old link and paid for it by one click accident. It worked out in the end.

FlexT9 was great. I would've never thought of installing another keyboard. I still didn't realize what I was missing until someone was raving about it and I remembered that I had downloaded it into my app list.

Bubble Popper has actually been fun. Doodle Fit isn't bad. Not the most exciting, but it's been interesting, a little challenging.

At some point, I'll use 100 pushups, probably the day after I can actually bang out 10 straight pushups. I use CardioTrainer pretty much every day.

But, the biggest surprise has been Ledgerist. At first glance, I didn't see the point as credit card and online banking statements pretty much eliminate the need for a money application. However, a banking statement only lists the amount of a ATM withdrawal. I'm using Ledgerist to actually keep track of what I'm spending that money on, so it's been very useful and it's really quick to enter transactions. This may be my favorite free app.

I want to use Converter, but I haven't had a chance to yet.

Okay, I made my contribution to keeping this thread alive. Don't make me put my horn rimmed glasses and pocket protector back on. :D

That's more like it! Thanks, it's always good to get a few comments, especially on apps that might be worthwhile. "Folder Organizer" is a great app. I was using it for awhile but switched to "Auto App Organizer" to save disc space and I liked it almost as much. But with FO free I think I may go back, I like it's icon selection better, and the way the folders look when opened.

I tested yesterday's app a little, seems accurate. Much easier to use than Cardiotrainer, certianly not all the bells and whistles, but I use it to see how far I move on the couch :D (ie: don't exercise much).

I am a fan of Folder Organizer. I bought it a few months ago after using the free version for awhile. It is one of my favorite apps to use on my phone.

I was tempted to get the JogTracker Pro, but I just simply love CardioTrainer too much to switch.

CardioTrainer has a couple issues still, (GPS sensitivity is an issue), but overall, I consider it one of the most useful apps I have picked up, and use it just about every day.

PS: I come look at this page every day.
Like a few others have said, most of the apps/games offered just aren't that good, and I end up not getting them or deleting them right away.

There have been a couple gems in the bunch though.
CardioTrainer, Peggle, My Paper Airplane 2, Plants vs Zombies, FieldRunners, Konas Crate.

Oh, I'd never switch from CardioTrainer. If I found out that JogTracker was more accurate, I'd just use it to track the mileage and log the workout into Cardio. There are too many other things that Cardio does to ditch it over a few tenths of a mile.

I have to say the best thing about Amazon's free app and MP3 of the day is the small burst of anticipation while you are waiting for the page to load up: is this going to be something that I want???

Yay! or Ugh! No.

As a new Captivate owner, I was ready to download File Organizer a few hours ago. I had been using the Lite version and decided to purchase the app. Just for kicks, I went to Amazon and lo and behold there is was for free. To make a long story short, I couldn't because AT&T hasn't loaded the software even though I have 2.2. Called AT&T to push but it didn't work. They told me it could take 24 hours. Did a little research and found an app called Android Injector. Followed the instructions on Lifehacker and I now have the full working version of File Organizer.

I have been using "smart shortcuts" for a long time now. I downloaded folder organizer today and I'm going to give it a try. I just didn't have time today because I spent all day getting a new tattoo :D

I think any adult that wants to make their voice sound like a robot, aliens or chipmunks should be forced to pay for that privilege and then rest of us can have the possibility to get a free app of some use.

Free MP3 of the day? Oh...oh... where is that located so I can grab as well?

Today's app is SwiftKey X. It really made me happy, I thought I was going to have to stick with the beta version, or go back to regular SwiftKey.

It's by far my favorite keyboard for android.

If you've already paid for SwiftKey in the market, then SwiftKey X is free in the market. You don't need the Amazon version.
