Amazon App Store Thread - Daily Free Apps

I'll try the X version. I didn't like it when it was a free app a few months ago. I really got use to Swype, I am so much faster on it. I could see Swift being better on something bigger than a 3" screen (like a tablet).
 
I had been using the default Gingerbread keyboard in landscape, but after trying SwiftKey for a while I am really liking it. I type much faster with it. I now use it in landscape and swype in portrait.
 
I was sooo annoyed at the whole swiftkey-free-app deal... I was using the beta...new version came out for $1.99...forgot to buy it before I went to bed that night....price goes up to $3.99...I get a notice that the betas expiring and my prediction will stop on July 20th...sucked it up and bought it, full price...next day.. FREE app of the day. :( grumble, grumble, grrr

I would have never even tried it if it wasn't the free app of the day. I was fine with the default gingerbread keyboard in landscape, now I am glad I got it though!
 
Is anyone else getting Airport Mania: First Flight as the free app of the day? I thought this was already a free app before.

Hopefully this means that some of the other previously free apps will get another free day. I missed out on Fruit Ninja and some other good ones.

When I posted that message they had Airport Mania as the free app of the day on the main page. They must have changed it as it is now Lingrove.
 
Airport Mania is still free. Go to the main page and look at the list of Top Free apps. It is right after Lingrove.

I wanted to wait. I said that Amazon would put it up. Everyone around me was like, no, they already put up SwiftKey, they won't do it again... It's not so much the $2 I spent, it's the lack of patience and not trusting my gut that is driving me nuts.


I also would love to play Lingrove, but like so many, it's half off my screen and you can't move it to fit. A wasted game.
 
For anyone that hasn't noticed that grabbed SwiftKey X, there is an update available. I really love that keyboard, I type so much faster with it!
 
Any golfers out there? A while back Skydroid was free, now Golf Frontier. Be interesting to see which is more accurate. I don't play much so haven't used either, but I have them both sitting in my Amazon account. Today's app "looks" better (and cost more if not free)... but doesn't mean it actually works better. The only problem I see with either is using GPS for 3-4 hours of gold in the heat, odds are your battery will be dead at hole 10.... time for beer!
 
i have skipped a few.. because it was just silly.

the app was just stupid or useless... and i hear that amazon does pay the dev a small fee .. even for the free to us.

I dont want a dev to profit from useless or bad programming...

I think it is 20% of the list price. I also avoid getting free apps that I think are total crap or useless.

This is really disappointing. After reading this I think I am going to buy all the apps on the market that I have got for free using Amazon's app store and I am going to quit using their app store. I am a big supporter of devs and like to know that they are getting paid for their work if it is an app I use and like.
 
Wow, I can't believe Amazon stooped that low. I guess this explains why we are getting a bunch of sub par applications for the free app of the day.
 
Heh. I haven't read the article in full,(I will tomorrow, I'm dead tired) but I did read the excerpt and a few of the comments. Amazing how everyone is feeling so sorry for these developers, but probably have no problem stealing music, television shows or movies. Not anyone here specifically, but it seems that Amazon uses the same verbiage that pirates use and now it's an outrage.

Some of those developers are probably pirates. It's no fun when the rabbit has the gun.
