Amazon App Store Thread - Daily Free Apps

Heh. I haven't read the article in full,(I will tomorrow, I'm dead tired) but I did read the excerpt and a few of the comments. Amazing how everyone is feeling so sorry for these developers, but probably have no problem stealing music, television shows or movies. Not anyone here specifically, but it seems that Amazon uses the same verbiage that pirates use and now it's an outrage.

Some of those developers are probably pirates. It's no fun when the rabbit has the gun.
How did we get from "that sucks that Amazon stopped giving developers 20% of their app list price and free advertising" to "all Android users are pirates and the developers deserved this?"

Actually I do get all of my Music from Slacker (which I pay for) and get all of my movies and TV from Netfix and Comcast, both of which I pay for.

As I said in my original comment, "not anyone here specifically." My point was on that site and the article written leans towards, "poor, poor developers." Are all Android developers pirates? Probably not, but I'm sure some of them are and maybe now that their work is being "stolen," they can understand the frustration of what people in the entertainment industry have been dealing with for years.

And while there are plenty of Amazon Free App of the Day users that are now outraged for these developers, within that segment of people, there are many who have no problem downloading volumes of free entertainment.

That's all I was saying, there shouldn't be any difference in Amazon "ripping these people off" and a consumer ripping off a branch of the entertainment industry, but I think we all know that people will most defiantly make that distinction. If you aren't one of those people, then there shouldn't have been any offense taken in that statement because it was an observation, not an indictment.

yes.. the "amazon app store" can be found in the "amazon app".
the "amazon app" can be found in the "android market".

you can also visit the amazon.com on your phone browser and look for the "amazon app store"

My apologies, I thought you meant the amazon appstore app. I don't use the amazon app so I wouldn't know about that.

so what am i doing wrong... it doesnt seem very easy to navigate and look through apps

EDIT: Nevermind, just found it when i went to install something

Great app for those that truly want to move files wirelessly everywhere:
Wifi File Explorer Pro is free in the Amazon appstore today.

How does this compare to EStrong File Explorer? I've been using that for quite a while and used Astro before that and it seems to work quite well.

Yet another task killer offered today.

Memory booster - $2.99

This is the third one they have put up. It's sad how some devs will make useless apps to make money off people. And equally sad how Amazon apparently supports them.

I was tempted to get the JogTracker Pro, but I just simply love CardioTrainer too much to switch.

CardioTrainer has a couple issues still, (GPS sensitivity is an issue), but overall, I consider it one of the most useful apps I have picked up, and use it just about every day.

Oh, I'd never switch from CardioTrainer. If I found out that JogTracker was more accurate, I'd just use it to track the mileage and log the workout into Cardio. There are too many other things that Cardio does to ditch it over a few tenths of a mile.

I don't know if you care anymore, but Jog Tracker is indeed, much more accurate than CardioTrainer. I'm just going to log the workouts into CardioTrainer, but JogTracker will tick off the mileage. Best of both worlds if you have the room on your phone.

Thanks!
I continue to use CardioTrainer, and am very happy with it.

(Most of my workouts are bike rides, and it appears to be pretty good with GPS on bike rides)

One irritating thing...

The Amazon APP store is a number of versions behind with CardioTrainer.

I have been tempted to pull down the Google Store's version, since it is free, but I don't want to tempt fate, and find out that GPS is worse on that version.

Yes, Amazon is behind, but don't worry about using the Market's version. That's the version I am using and used to determine which one was more accurate. Amazon will want to continue to update CT when you use the Market's version, but the Pro part of the app will work for both. Update.

For some odd reason i cannot locate the settings to allow me to download apps which are not from the Android Market. The error message which pops up to bring me to the settings screen doesn't have the settings.
