Next track was always there on the music widget but now you are right about it being easier cuz the actual button is bigger and easier to press from home screen. I love love love the new widgets

Hmm ... yes, a brief search confirms that you are correct. I do like the layout of the widget much better now.

I manually updated to 2.0.1 and it really seems like the 3g reception is significantly better. The phone used to have trouble holding onto a 3g signal in my apt, but now it seems to be staying between 1 and 3 bars. I'll report back after some more extensive usage.

I got the update last night, and can observe a few things so far.

Seems to be quicker and smoother switching between the home screens, and pulling down the notification windowshade. It also seems to grab onto 3G signal better - I was usually getting 1-2 bars, sometimes it would drop and switch to 1X. Occasionally, it would jump to 4 bars on 3G, but it wouldn't stay.

This is all while I'm at home.

One thing still happens, though - if I have WiFi on, the cell signal drops down to 1 bar or down to 1X. If I turn off WiFi, within moments the cell signal jumps to 3-4 bars. Odd.

Also in the multimedia dock last night, even though I had at least 2 bars on 3G or with WiFi on, it would not update the weather widget. And the soft key backlight still never turns off.

Haven't messed with the browser yet, but will probably do so now.

only bad thing i found is now my facebook widget is blank??? anyone else see this?
facebook works better now except that??????????

What would be nice is if verizon and or motorola had a website where you could enter your phone # or phones SN and it would tell you where your "place in line" is for the update.. So we're not Waiting around ..

you could always download and do the manual update....did all three last night that I have and works great.....just be sure to unplug from computer before starting update or you get an error

I did the upgrade directly and not OTA. My findings are that the update has made my droid a little less stable.

1. Apps dont seem to respond as well as they used to. Gtalk doesnt always send the message when i press send. never had that problem before.

2. The browser seems faster, but doesnt seem to navigate form fields as well as it used to before the update. before the update if there was a username and password field and a go button I would get a next next go sequence but now I have to switch from landscape to portrait and click the submit or Go button

I will have to say i havent had a problem with the echo through the speaker since the update, but im not so sure the update is as stable or as good as we hoped.

has anyone looked at how to revert back to the previous os version?!

anyone else having problems updating your apps in the market. i ususally get a retry msg then i back out and it seems to work fine. just wondering on this.

Yep Im having the same problem. I also got a few error messages from the web browser when trying to hit facebook's mobile site.

dont know if anyone addressed this yet but before i updated to 2.0.1 my left channel in my earphones would cut in and out if i had the volume on the droid turned all the way up. as promised by vzw this issue has been resolved with the update. very pleased

Yes!! I've also noticed that it was fixed, but wanted someone else to confirm it as well. I'm very happy as this was a huge issue for me. I'm so glad it was software fixable and not hardware related.

Is there any way to get the old unlock screen back? There is nothing I like about this new one. I don't like the new font, the new position for the time makes no sense. Its a huge downgrade for me. Don't even get me started on the lock itself, the old one was unique and extremely functional, this one sucks and "feels" like crap.

Someone help me, the rest of the update seems fine as of now, but the unlock screen just went from awesome to cheap verizon iphone wannabe crap.

Also have yet to encounter the "tap to click something and the phone thinks i scrolled 100 pages down to the bottom" bug.
I have. But I think it has more to do with the screen being overly sensitive to light touch.

Also, I've had horrible lag with the soft keyboard while typing this. I've yet to try typing in otjer apps or other websites though. Oh, I'm using Dolphin browser btw. EDIT: I had no lag on the rest of the forums at all. Just with the keyboard.

This version is still lacking GSM 6.10 .WAV file support. Will have to use the workaround for voicemail messages sent to my email. Bummer.

Well - so far all the apps that were installed on mine are working fine.

I did notice that forwarding email attachments from POP3 email accounts was not fixed with 2.0.1. I was really hoping this would be taken care of but I am hoping it gets fixed in the next update. I bought this phone (my first smartphone) primarily to be able to access a business POP3 email account when I am away from home. Proper email handling is important to me, as I am sure it is to others who perhaps have migrated from blackberry devices. I have found a work around through a third party app which will work for now, but I want this fixed.

Anybody hear if a fix for this issue is in the works?

Anyone else noticing that the weather widget while connected to the multimedia dock is not updating?

I put the phone on the dock again when I took a shower a little while ago, and the weather widget would not update.

The location is set manually using my zip code, and it finds the city... but no update.

ETA:

It appears the issue was server-side. Others were observing this, and then found that a short while ago, it started updating. I put my phone on the dock, and it updated. This issue should not be related to the 2.0.1 update.
