Android 2.0.1 Findings!!!

Hows everyones battery life after the update. I've had mine off the charger for 4 hours and 45 minutes and I'm at 60%. I've been using it pretty heavy, few phone calls, update apps, 3 email accounts (1 gmail, 2 exchange) and the Beautiful Home Widget updating every 15 minutes using Home++

Does that seem right? According to everyone else who got the update a day or two ago, their battery life dam near doubled. At this rate, Mine will be dead at the same time it normally is, around 7 to 8 p.m.

I'm ok with it, just put it on the charger, but was hoping for some better results.

I've been playing with mine a lot and that's killed the battery pretty fast. What id do is wait till you star using it like you would normally and then make a judgement on if the battery life has improved

I know this wasn't listed, and I think it's probably a placebo effect here. However, the landscape QWERTY seems to be much better. Just me?

I used to think it was completely useless for fast typing, but it seems to pick up most of my quickly typed keystrokes after I forced the upgrade.

Again, probably just because I'm looking for improvements.
I'm experiencing the same thing. The keyboard in 2.0 would regularly miss words completely or I'd get only one letter. So far, this has not occurred in 2.0.1.

After i manually update i cant open Gallery it says Application is not installed on your phone. anyone else also sometimes when i open slider the keyboard wont light up

I did the update online still no update via Verizon first thing I notice is that the high pitch noise is still on my calls when using the phone.

So far I've only noticed this in the FeedR application, but the font size is notably smaller. Text size doesn't seem to have changed in any other applications. Has anyone else noticed any changes to font sizes? FeedR doesn't seem to include the ability to make text size changes and now it's a little too small for my tired eyes.

Delete that shortcut from the home screen and drag a new one from the app tray.

To those that did the update: does anyone still have the 1X issue in good 3X coverage areas?

edit: glad you fixed it longdaddy

I did the force update - I don't see any improvements or changes to the Exchange functions. Anyone see any Exchange improvements?

The only thing that I have found so far is that I had to relearn how to answer calls. I was used to a quick swipe but now it's more like a press & drag. It's still as quick but requires just a bit of pressure.

Not sure if this was mentioned, but the picture frame widget now has a black outline and not a white outline.

I'm using Home++ and the snappiness of the Home Screen Navigation seems to have carried over. As with Dolphin Browser, I never had an issue with it in the first place but I didn't notice too much of a difference with regards to speed. I haven't tried out the default browser yet though

i'm having issues mounting USB when connected to my home computer(Windows 7 64bit) but i can connect fine at work(XP Pro SP3 32bit). anyone w/ Win7 USB connection issues?

dont know if anyone addressed this yet but before i updated to 2.0.1 my left channel in my earphones would cut in and out if i had the volume on the droid turned all the way up. as promised by vzw this issue has been resolved with the update. very pleased

I have found there to be even more screen black outs while using the phone to the face and going to hang up. I also notice that the GDE app goes into lock while you are in a call.I am not seeing any battery improvement either with minimal use.

Not sure if this would be addressed via the update but I thought I'd ask anyway. Has anyone tested the gmail app to see if embedded images now display or do you still see the blue square with a ? in it.

I don't remember the answer but I know that it was discussed and I am pretty sure there was a solution. (May have had to do with a debugging setting? I can't remember.) It may still be here somewhere if you search droid Windows 7 64 bit mount sd.....or something like that.

maybe i slept through it. weird.

hahah definitely a possibility. Happens to me everyonce in awhile, and often on consecutive days for some reason. It's easy to test though, just set an alarm for a minute from now, sleep the phone, and see if it goes off. I leave mine on the really really annoying alarm ring to get me up, but there are definitely days where I get up and say oh no did I sleep through it? Most of the time you just roll over, or in a sleep daze pick up the phone and turn it off and just don't remember. Place it farther away from your bed, and possibly use a back up alarm on your computer. But testing it immediately for the alarm going off while sleeping will tell you if its the phones hardware, or your hardware that doesn't turn on while sleeping ;)

I manually updated.

The SSL issue blocking attachments in your exchange account is fixed! I just got my droid yesterday & about returned it because of this issue. Glad I didn't have to wait too long for the fix!
