Haven't seen a reply to this yet, just received my update this morning (woke up to the update screen)--before the update I was getting a dBm strength of between 68 to74 (average)---The signal strength seems to have remained the same. Before the update my phone had gotten so slow on YouTube, that I'd quite trying to view it. Since the update, it FLYS. Normal quality loads in 2 seconds, I cannot hit the "high quality" sequence before the normal quality is playing. The reload to high quality takes 3 to 4 seconds. This is a big improvement for my phone. Been to busy to check on anything else, except to confirm my font size is definitely smaller. If anyone has a fix for this, please post.
 
Ever since I updated, using the native messaging app, I get an icon of an envelope with an "i" on top of it next to all my outgoing messages. What does this mean?

EDIT: Please excuse the above post. It turns out this has nothing to do with the update. This icon indicates a delivery report because I accidently checked that box in the message app's settings. Additionally, all the reports for the messages sent to verizon customers say "sent," and the reports for non-verizon customers say "pending," regardless of whether they were sent correctly or not.

I believe the error is due to the fact that you may add a google contact to multiple groups. So if you were to import 2+ groups that contain the same contact, that contact would sync with a facebook contact for EACH group that the contact belonged to.

Example: Let's say you have a friend named John Doe and he has a Facebook account. You add a Google contact for him and tag him in your Friends group and you also tag that same contact to your College group. Now if you were to import both Friends and College groups to your contact list, John Doe's Facebook profile would be listed twice in your phone under his name.

I have upgraded to 2.0.1 and am still experiencing this phenomenon. I hope it gets fixed, however, it's not that pressing of an issue.
 
I had double contacts when logging into gmail that was fun to clean up.

It's really annoying, some of my friends don't like their phone number on FB so I have them listed twice on my phone as well.

You can setup the contact list to only show FB contacts with phone numbers.
 
Dumb Question, since we're at our 200,000/day batches are they pushing these out all at midnight or gradually throughout the day? so like if you dont see something @ midnight should you figure nothing till tmrw or are they gradually pushing them out at a rate of 200k/day throughout the entire day...

Mine didn't come through until around 2-2:30 am, so I would guess staggered throughout the day. Plus that would make for much less strain on the network.
 
3G better than ever. Incoming voice quality better. 1x signal still appalling. Scrolling on the browser is all screwed up and scrolling on certain menus is a bit choppy too. Everything else seems slightly faster.
 
I was heading home from the Police Academy which is in Dayton, OH. If you know dayton its not a good place to be lost. lol i was talking on the phone missed the on ramp to 75, about 10 min later i was definitely lost in the ghetto of dayton. I tried to use google nav after the update, turn my whole phone black didnt even bring up force close froze the whole phone. I had to take battery out and put it back in. Long story short, i got home not mugged or shot but the navigation still doesnt work

Fixed? What other mobile smart phone goes into landscape mode on their home screen that you feel this is a basic feature that should be there? I don't believe the iPhone does, nor WM.
 
i've noticed that it wont switch to landscape as easily when you place it on a flat surface...i HATED that.

the omnia does. you can customize the landscape home to have different widgets than the portrait home. also, everything can be voice activated, like gps, music, contacts, messages. you name it. it does it. winmo phones are far more advanced .... but super freakin clunky and the learning curve is ridiculous. the 5mpxl cam on the omnia absolutely smokes my droid's. i can tell you from personal experience that the samsung omnia would have been one of the best phones on the market had it not been for the jagged, clunky, and overly difficult os. i love my droid, and i'm not going back to winmo anytime soon, but google has a lot to learn about what "does" means. the "droid does" commercial got me on day one, but let's be honest. it "does" half of what it says it does. i still can't use voice search to pull up music. i still can't rotate to landscape home without opening the keyboard, i still can't watch flash on my browser. this is only the tip, but i digress. i'm sure google will shape it up ... i mean, the developers that root this phone and create the apps we want will shape it up. google will just kinda let them.

Works fine for me...sounds like you should call Verizon support or take your Droid in to a storefront to get it fixed or replaced.
 
FB app is much worse then before now it doesn't refresh ever....oh well not a big deal since it doesn't send updates anyways and I get them from my gmail..at least that still works great.

Battery life seems much improved based on the usage today. Phone unplugged at 7am, has been receiving emails texts all day, made one phone call and played pandora (through computer so not using speaker) for 5 hours straight and I still have 30% battery life left. possibly a false positive because i'm not sure how much battery life pandora uses especially when it's not required to move the phone's speaker, but still pretty good.

on wifi all day which i know helps the battery life also.

thank god handscent sent an update today as it didn't show pics for people on caller id with 2.0.1...it does now :)

Happen to actually catch it downloading into my phone when I went to Settings Phone Status and saw it incoming!
 
the only problem I have had with the home screen NOT going into landscape mode was when I was trying to use the search widget. It pops up the portrait on screen keyboard, but wont give you the landscape one. At the time for some reason I didn't want to slide it open so I was like GRRR~
That was just one time though. No biggie

Man last night I was driving home and listening to my play list on my Droid with mt i pod headphones and noticed the left channel distorting and thought oh well they are old (from 2005) and I probably blew it and almost went and bought another pair! Then i plugged it up to my wholes house audio to jam out while showering and thought I had blown a speaker in the bathroom! I so re leaved that it was the Droid and is now fixed. Now gimme back my freakin ARC!!! lol
 
I'm having a problem. Saw the update when I checked on status. Then i told it to download... that was 20 minutes ago and its still there... downloading... I had my WiFi on with a 30mbit connection and its still downloading... I rebooted the phone and I took off wifi and have full bar 3g connection and its still downloading. I don't know what to do.

I personally would have just left it alone and never restarted in the middle of an update like that. Just let it chill for a bit and see if it does its thing. If that dosent work i'd just wait and call tech support in the morning or go to a store. Good Luck.

Same thing happened to me...just remove it from your home screen and add it again and it works =]

They ruined the calendar widget. Previously, the color-coding that one used on Google Calendar (for different categories of events: personal, business, wife, etc.) would be replicated by the color of the font in the widget. Now, all events are in black font. I tried un/reinstalling the widget--no change.
