Android 2.1 Update

So it looks like this is it D-Day and we have no update. I am not talking about 2.1 because that was a rumor, but where is the official update that we were sure was going to happen. You guys know the one, where we had documented proof? Well I got no update at all and I am slightly depressed. There are a few things that could be fixed on this phone.
 
I heard from my sister's husband's cousin's neighbor, who works at the mall in the calendar kiosk that is adjacent to the GAP with a sales lady who is divorced from a former security guard that used to work at the bank where the new tech support guy at the verizon store on 5th street has his checking account... that when she asked him for the latest info about a 2.1 update for the droid, he said he didn't have any idea what she was talking about and she was violating the restraining order.

He did recommend that we make this a 200 page thread that wastes everyone's time. :D
 
I think if there was a jan 22 update to fix bugs/issues with the phone i think properely going to hold off until they get 2.1 ready and just do the whole bugs/issues fixes and 2.1 update all at ones.

Attention everybody that is hoping the update is today. I have proof from the motorola twitter account. I don't have the link for it but just go to twitters latest update and see for yourself. It is quit depressing I know /:

Just curious, has anyone tried to see if the fixes were already fixed on their Droid? I have the Eris and everything that the official paper says will be addressed in the 22nd update is fixed and I received an update on the 11th. I think that the pack you received earlier this month was the 22nd update, just early.

If anything Verizon is on top of it and got things fixed ahead of schedule.
 
The Droid 2.1 update WILL come. The release date has not been announced.

Here is what Motorola said on their official Facebook page.


Motorola Sorry all, we know you are excited about 2.1 updates to your Moto Android-based products, but we have no additional details to share on official timing at this point. We promise to update you as soon as can!

I'll be the first to start the rumor...


I read it somewhere on twitter, and it was confirmed by 7 VZ employees. 2.1 will arrive on 2/1/2010.




(All of this is, of course, as "confirmed" as the crap everyone else was posting prior to today.)

hahahaha oh boy...

I hate the posts that start..."a verizon rep told me..." :mad:
 
I ordered an extender due to my poor reception. (IT WORKS LIKE CRAZY!) But when I called the rep back to let him know that it worked, I also slipped him a question about an impending Motorola Droid update.

His response? "An update? Well, I don't know about Motorola, but it's Verizon's policy to send updates anytime new stuff comes out!".

Rather than try to explain, I feined mild enthusiasm and thanked him for the "inside info". :p
 
so out of curiosity am i the only one who hasnt recived this update. cause its now jan. 23 and have yet to see any 60mb ota update
