... a rooted phone has OTA blocked.

Do you know how I can check my rom to see if OTA is turned off?
Says who?
Dittolame thread..deleteeee
im sure....
this was a sarcastic remark BTW haha

you know that was smartassism...right?With all due respect, i think thats an old news lol![]()

This worked to get 4 new cell sites in my town (which drastically improved local signal) so maybe it'll work for this.
My new suggestion:
Everyone here: EMAIL Verizon Wireless (via contact us on their page), Google Support for Android (wherever you can find their info) and then Motorola and stress the importance of this update.
We all know it is basically ready for launch (as a similar update was launched on milestone) and something similar is on the Nexus One (am I incorrect?) so it's basically just waiting for people to press the magic button.
I worked for Verizon Wireless for 8 years (before moving to a company, not a wireless carrier, with more promotion opportunities) and Verizon had always taken their customer's thoughts and ideas higher than anything. The lower price plan for Unlimited Talk was brought about by customers. The Unlimited Messaging plans came about by customers. They DO listen.
I'm emailing all 3 now...i'm too anxious.
Emailing them isn't gonna do anything, and the milestone didn't get a 2.1 update, just 2.0.1. The Nexus is the newest big bad Android phone and one if it's BIG selling points is that it is the only phone with 2.1 right now. Google is gonna get all the $$$ it can out of that, like I said along time ago. We will be lucky to get 2.1 sometime in feb or march, because if you look at the history of these situations with other phones they usually have to wait 2-4 months to get these updates. Just because this is Verizon's big phone or Motorola's doesn't mean Google is gonna let them steal the N1's shine.
? You make a good point though. You really think Google is putting a hold on this to help the N1?Please someone lock this thread. Arrgh.
But don't we already know that moto and google are working on the update right? You make a good point though. You really think Google is putting a hold on this to help the N1?
Oh I am sure Motorola and Google are working on the update, it is probably done or just about done. But they want to milk the N1 a bit longer then they have yet, it's only been out for what 2 weeks or so? My prediction for the 2.1 OTA has always been February-March (or even further), but I would love it if we got it sooner of course.

So wait, the OTA isn't coming out January 22nd?
Oh hai guyz!
out with the old (storm) and in with the new (droid)
leap years ahead would be an understatement, but if my droid had a hole, i'd eff it.
since everyone is already beating a dead horse, i'd like to take a swing too...2.1 release date? rumors?
