Android 2.2 [Froyo] Bugs and Questions - Post em Here

I have been running mp4 video on my droid since day 1 back in November and since the 2.2 upgrade, I can no longer play the video's that played fine on 2.1. I get audio, but the video hangs on one frame and doesn't play at all. I can skip fwd and the frame changes, but will not 'play' the video.

My video is encoded (using BeyondTV's H.264 codec) at either 640x480(SD) or 848x480(HD) @1200kbps and aac 48khz 160kbps. All videos played quite nicely on both the internal video player and Act 1 video player before the 2.2 upgrade.

I downoaded Rockplayer to see how it would handle the videos, and the audio is fine, but the video runs at about half speed, so it is not acceptable either.

I haven't heard of anyone else with this problem. Help?

Many Thanks!

I had the same problem with my videos. All of them played just fine with 2.1, with 2.2 some just displayed a black box instead of a thumbnail some looked like and played like a vcr tape being fast forwarded. It was a mess.
I downloaded Daniusoft Video converter, it has settings for the Droid already in it, and just reconverted them all. Now it's back to normal.
The video was really the only problem. The battery seemed to drain more but I got rid of TasKiller and installed Task manager well see how that goes.

Looks like I am the only one so far that has had my problem... The 2.2 update completely bricked my Droid. The update popped up on my phone this morning, I selected to update, it started the process, acted like it was going to restart, but there it sits at the first screen with the Motorola logo. It has sat at that screen for about three hours now with no change. Brought it up to my local Verizon store, there was nothing they could do for it, and they had no Droids in stock. I had to pay to have one shipped overnight to me as I am leaving tomorrow afternoon for a huge car show / cruise in Detroit for the weekend. Bad deal for sure, but at least I will have a new phone... tomorrow.

I actually just got 1x. That's a big step forward from where I was for the first few hours after the update :o

Its currently on 3g but its been going from 1x to 3g for the last hour. I did try the *228 and upgraded my roaming and upgraded the phone(Option 1 and 2). So we will see if it stays on 3g for good.

Just got my 2.2 this morning and now my sd card won't mount to my droid1. I've done several reboots and battery pulls to no avail. I've also read this forum and found nothing. anyone have any idea?

Kindly tell me just what I have to save / backup prior to doing a wipe?
I have been having too many issues with this after forcing the FRG01B hence I figured I'd try the reset as mentioned by others.
I have a lot of Apps that do not show as being on the SD and do not have that option so I assume I will lose all of them/ Also as they might not show in the market being as it will not recognize this build I might not be able to download again easily yet.
What about my camera pics etc in gallery. Is there a method to bulk move them to the SD?
What about the txt's?

Here's a nice guide:

Having a weird problem. Anytime I am in the messaging app (I do use SMS popup so IDK if that has anything to do with it) but if I press the back button on the touch screen it refreshes my text messaging app and won't let me exit unless I press the back button +5 times. I will try uninstalling SMS popup and see if that fixes it. Anyone else having this problem?

EDIT: Uninstalled SMS popup fixed the problem. Will reinstall and see what happens.

Also, I had a live wallpaper (neural network) and anytime I would exit an app or press back, something would always be highlighted. After changing to a regular wall paper it no longer had things highlighted.

i have same symtoms
no signal in status(sometimes one)
occillating in wifi analyzer
good speed test results (2wire)
RSSI: -200 ????????????

The only thing I've noticed so far is that my Touchdown app no longer sets the LED color I choose... I seem to be stuck with green. GMail Notifier still works for the preset custom colors that are on that app. Anyone else?

I updated ota everything went good. I liked the new updates but alot of times when I hit the home key on my moto droid it wipes away all the icons on my screen and take 15-30 seconds for them to come back. I had adw launcher and thought it was it not cooperating with the updates so I deleted it and got pro launcher same thing happened. So I deleted it and went the the stock home screens and yet still the same problem. Any ideas.

Got my update about 2 hours ago only trouble i have found so far was moving apps around on the home screens. When i tried to drag and drop they would just disappear. Ended up having to use the create shortcut by long touch to the home screen.

Can't figure out how to use voice commands to activate a phone call with Blutooth. I'm using a mono in the ear Samsung. Do I need to download a separate app? I'm running 2.2 on an original Droid.

I've had this happen and read that it was an actual issue with the cheap sd cards provided by motorola and swapped it out with a namebrand one from verizon for free and it works perfectly. I would try that before sending your phone back or anything.

hope that helps

I just got my update this morning, ad ever since, I cannot run any progrmas whatsoever. Everything I try to run creates a need to Force Close! It's happend with Opera, Launcher, even the Settings. HELP!

After the Froyo update, my phones camera app no longer works. It says that the app is not installed. And its the same deal for the stock calendar app. What gives? I read some other posts for other phones that have had this problem and they uninstalled the flashlight app. I tried that, but it didn't work for my droid....Please help.

I received my update around 1am. It got stuck and I had to restart it. It updated again, seemed like it finished fine and when it restarted it froze. It's now stuck on the white M and won't go further. I have to remove the battery to turn it off. I called Verizon this morning and she said that there were "a few" that had this issue and they received a special bulletin about it earlier this morning. The only fix is to take it to a Verizon store with a technician (who supposedly have special tool to fix it) or have them send you a replacement phone. I plan on taking it in after work and *hopefully* they can fix it.

I had my heart set on the 3-way rotating function just basically for watching movies. I don't use a stand and normal just prop the phone up to watch if I have it on the charger the cord hinders my stability. Flipping it 180 out would solve that.

The video play back is still the original potrait mode with the stock player and nswPlayer.. Bummer..
