Okay, here's a recommendation for the Fist of the North Star fans out there: Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (2012). It's kinda like a spiritual successor, and you'll see that in the art style and the fight scenes.

It's about a young English aristocrat in possession of an evil Aztec stone mask that grants supernatural powers. And there's his adopted brother, who's a ne'er-do-well that will do whatever it takes to obtain that power, even if he has to kill for it.

The stone mask must not fall into the wrong hands, and must be destroyed as the fate of the world hangs in the balance.

Check it out. :)

P.S. - All of the characters are named after musicians. :p

Wait...a stone mask that grants supernatural powers?

Holy crap... Sword Art Online... Caught my interest... Didn't think I'd like it from the preview... Watched first episode dubbed... Continued to watch all current 25 episodes subbed online in 4 days... Can't wait for the next season... Think it appealed to my inner geek/gamer spirit... Lol

It's pretty good.

The next season is well worth it. :)

I've started into Code:Breaker.

Terrible opening sequence and tune, excellent story. Nice and twisty. :)

I'm surprised you haven't seen that already. :p
Definitely one of the best shows in 2011

Are any of you watching something that's airing this season?

I'm surprised too - I can't tell if I somehow forgot I watched it or what. But I'm far enough in that I think I had it on my list and spaced it.

I'm watching Attack on Titan, and Hunter x Hunter is ongoing. I think that's it for the current crop.

Attack on Titan seems good... Started watching it a few days back... Hunter x Hunter... Never checked it out... Is it good?

If you like the Attack on Titan anime, you should read the manga. It's a lot better imo (and the story is further along)

Yeahha turned me on to Hunter x Hunter - I think it's outstanding. Absolutely recommend. :)

It grows on you and right when you think, OK, this is it - BAM! It steps it up.

Over and over and over.

I really like it.

I think you recommended Steins;Gate - many thanks!

Steins;Gate is a great anime. I'm also surprised you just now discovered it. I'll also check out Hunter x Hunter when I can. :)

Just finished watching all of what I believe to be season 1 of attack on titan... All the way up to the recap episode... I love this show so far

Technically everything through episode 25 will actually be part of the first season.

The latest episode opens up an interesting question. :)
Yeah, this is where the story really gets going :D
It's too bad that certain things in the anime were made more obvious than in the source material though.

In anime, an arc can be easily confused as a season can it?

I'm not sure.

I can (almost) recite the arcs in Hunter x Hunter but I can't say how they related to seasons. I never had a clue what season of Naruto I was watching.

And some of it definitely follows seasons or a hiatus and return.

Once in a while, I'll notice that I'm skipping over a different intro or there's a new closing sequence - I usually assume I've crossed a season boundary, but I don't pay much attention past that.

Arcs I do. Some arcs seem to happen at episodes numbers divisible by 12 or 13. So far as I know, those and sometimes 7 are the popular season lengths.

I don't know about others, but I'd guess it varies by series.

I only care about which episode number comes next so I don't jink up the story in my head. :D

Naruto by far is the most confusing when it comes to arcs and seasons... Made it all the way to season 7 without realizing it... Haha... But anyway... I watched episode 16 of attack on titan and I can't watch 17 cuz I don't have a premium crunchy roll account... YouTube it is then! :):):)

Casshern Sins is pretty good so far. Very trippy the further you go into it.

When I finish I'm going to try to look up the original series and see if that's worth watching as well.

I've seen it in bits and pieces on Cartoon Network a while back. It's not too bad from what I've seen.
