In regards to the next Nexus device - do you guys think we'll see one before Christmas/New Years?
I think definitely before Christmas.

Oh. *shrug* Just getting straight to the point and calling things how I see them.
Not at all . (If I had a bone to pick with someone, believe me: They'd know it .)
Hmmm... I guess just the Motorola brand. I guess it seems that Sprint's lacking, to me, because they don't have what I'm looking for, whereas VZ does.
Ah. Okay. Thanks for the info. Now that you mention it, I think I saw a complaint about this in another forum, related to either VZ or "AT&T."
I suppose it makes sense. Prevents a user from getting a subsidized phone, then taking it to Europe or some other GSM area, bailing on the contract and stiffing the provider that subsidized the purchase.
Does Sprint eventually, after some time, unlock the SIM? If not: I see no point in a world phone. A sticky or FAQ entry here might be handy.
Too bad you couldn't give me an iPhone... or an iAnything
It certainly does! Thanks for the enlightenment.
Some Moto phones are built a bit more robustly than many other phones. VZ' 'Droids, for example, have the Kevlar shells, Gorilla Glass fronts and, IIRC, titanium or high-strength aluminium internal frames. ISTR the Photon was built similarly?
Old age? They say the second thing to go is your mind

Of course. Tho I don't know as it's all marketing hype. From what I've read: Gorilla Glass is tougher than "plain old glass."Haha!
I guess I just dont buy into the marketing hype. Gorilla glass for example is still glass (and not exclusive to moto)
Of course. It's glass. It resists light scratches. It still cracks scratches shatters under the right circumstances ( it suprisingly doesnt take much)
Like I said: They're generally built a bit more "robustly," from what I've seen. Not that they're bullet-proof, mind you.My personal opinion so far....I have not seen anything personally that seems extra special about moto phones.
I do not know. Honestly not sure how much it matters. The kevlar is new...is that multi device or one specific

All good. Glad to hear that and thanks for clarifying.
Getting back to Sprint's offerings...yeah, I really hope they do start to step up the game. For me, it doesn't mean I'll leave because it's the only carrier that gets strong signal at my house, but I feel like they are moving in the right direction. This is the first year I've actually waited to use my upgrade in a long time.
I'm with you there. My upgrade is burning a hole in my pocket. I want to use it but I'm waiting for the Note 2. Normally I'd get so bored with my phone that I'd get a new one almost every 6 months.
Lol...everyone has the same phones ..att sprint tmo..even verizon. Verizon has one line the others do not carry and I fail to see anything superior in the droid branded line.
Posts like this really confuse me
When is the last time Sprint had a good Moto phone? They have been as good as the other carriers with Samsung and HTC.
Also the 2 Nexus phones they have got (S and Galaxy), they have been way behind on getting them (6+ months after they are released) and then they don't get timely updates like the GSM Nexus phones.
Photon last year.

Hmmm, so if T-Mobile just cancelled the Note 1 in favor of offering the Note 2 soon, I wonder how far behind the other carriers will be, considering LTE radio has to be added:

My guy gets his tomorrow. Release could be as soon as mid sept or as latevas 90 days. Really hoping to narrow it down thursday
*hmph* Well, then, I'm out of the market. No decent Motorola on Sprint, nothing else Sprint has that interests me, and I'm not interested in paying $20 more per month for less from VZ.Admiral? There was another as well.
As discussed earlier in the thread, moto and verizon have an exclusive agreement.

Maybe I'll be back to look again in a few months.
Thanks to all of you for your help and information.

Just out of curiosity.. what's the obsession with Moto phones?
Razr Maxx HD would've been my upgrade choice, if it was offered as a Photon follow-up.
Motorola officially announces the Motorola DROID RAZR HD and RAZR MAXX HD
Verizon's exclusivity will just hamper Motorola's "growth" if they don't start offering high-end devices across all platforms.
Agree 100%.
This live event was a major disappointment. Three versions of a phone exclusive to Verizon. I really don't know why Google involved themselves, it could have been all Verizon reps with a token Moto rep and had the same impact.
Motorola, I am disappoint. I really thought we were going to see a hint of what the new post-acquisition Moto would look like.
Samsung did it right. Release a high end phone for ALL carriers.
Galaxy Note ll didn't even drop yet and there's already rumors for Note lll.....
Samsung might be prepping a 5.8" ClorOLED display with 16 subpixels RGB matrix, can we say Note III?
