Any new phone rumors for Sprint?

The non-removable battery is killer for some users, no getting around that.

I'll be interested to see if the trend continues or reverses.

I expect it to continue.

I didn't realize non-removable battery would bother me until I had to do a soft reset on my family members mopho q. That was annoying. Overall, I'm actually not against non-removable batteries as long as OEM's start following Motorola's lead ( razr maxx). If you're going with a non- removable battery form factor, at least put in a huge battery while keeping the phone slim. Consumers are hopefully not gullible enough to believe that a slim form factor can't be combined with a big battery.

The trend I absolutely detest is OEM's going with no sd card slot. That's something that I will not compromise on. Until a Network provider is completely hole proof, I don't want to hear that I can access the files from the cloud.

Get back to me on that cloud thing when I fly or take a train and always have a signal.

Plus, who doesn't want to use radio power and kill a battery just to listen to some tunes while on the go? smh.

No sd card means never having to say Airplane Mode again. :D

HTC was a strong candidate to be my next phone both in OCTOBER 2011 & 2012. Last year, the WEBTOP / LAPDOCK system w /the MOTOROLA PHOTON was the deciding factor.
This time around, as a warranty replacement via BEST BUY'S rapid exchange, I opted for the SGS III, solely for the removable battery.

Once my upgrade rolls around in JUNE 2013, HTC will definitely be on the short list of phones I'll be looking at, provided the network improvements roll out in my area by then,in which battery life will not be a factor(hopefully), one way or the other.

Yup...exactly, EM! I didn't even think about it in that regard, but that's an obvious point as well.

Or, maybe there'll be a point where they figure out how to make it easy for consumers to compress HD audio and video files (without degrading quality), so that they take up less than 1mb to store on their devices...hahaha...that'll be the day I don't complain about not being able to expand my storage space.

For as long as the Razr has been it out it really baffles my mind that other OEM's haven't taken the Razr approach to batteries. I was looking as the teardown just yesterday. It would be so simple to incorporate a super thin, but still large battery.

Right, Tommy? I mean, I've always purchased an extra battery, just to keep the thin form factor (as supposed to the bulky extended batteries), but once Motorola came out with the Razr Maxx last year, I kept wondering why OEM's continued to have the excuse that they wouldn't be able to keep a thin form factor...I just don't know how consumers would realistically buy that b.s. anymore. I certainly don't.

That's the other thing I don't get. Extended batteries. Why can't they "flow" out of the tiny spot where the original battery was so then it would still be thin, and not be a waste of space.

After this years crop of phones come & go, anyone care to speculate what lies ahead, in light of the majority stake in SPRINT being taken up by SOFTBANK?

Well, this is the news I was hoping for:
Google’s influence on Motorola’s hardware won’t be evident until late next year

I was always under the belief that it would take Google at least 1 full year (after formal acquisition) to turn Motorola around for the better. Many people were hemming and hawing about how Motorola's crop of phones were awful and how Google isn't turning things around. While, I believe that to be true in the short term, if Motorola is able to stay somewhat competitive until this time next year, I think that's when we (as consumers) will be able to see how Google's influence will play out. Until that time, I'll be happy giving Samsung a fair shake for the next 18 months (at least), but I'm looking forward to having many more options, especially with the new Clear-Spank or Spank-wire network!

You're preaching to choir dude. I just don't have the confidence to go with a phone without a removable battery. Maybe more like paranoid. Lol

If the Razr HD and HD MAXX were on Sprint I would be hard-pressed not to get it. Although camera quality is still something that seems a little iffy on Moto devices.

have a link for that teardown tommy?

I can't have a phone that does not have a removable battery, no matter how big or long lasting it may be. Which is why the HTC device was out of my list of devices back then.

And that brings me to this..

I see quite a few phones that will have more radios for much better world coverage. (Like dual sims). as well as longer battery life, and wireless charging.

but the one thing I would love to see is just make the system allow apps to go on the sdcard without having to hack the damn thing to death to do that. Or at the very least allow the option on a stock phone to swap the internal with the external memory. This way manufacturers don't have to make so many different versions of a device (16, 32, 64 etc) and just make one and let the buyer get the extra amount they need or want.

With Motorola, I lost favor with them, but they may win me back if google does do what drex says, but for now, Samsung is my brand.

So any idea what the last LTE device would be for Sprint. We still have Nov and Dec and that is alot of time just for one last device. I figure maybe two more.

I wouldn't mind seeing the CLAMBOOK/PADFONE/LAPDOCK type of ecosystem re-visited/expanded upon.

How sweet would it be to have the note 2 with a padfone like tablet dock and keyboard dock....talk about ideal!

I should resist because I don't want to misinterpreted as snarky, but... Isn't the next step up from the Note2 in screen size a TV?

Sorry, but it's an honest question. With a screen that nice and big, wouldn't a nice Bluetooth keyboard and a stand do?? And/or with an HDMI connection??

Lol... More portable than a TV. And docking station leaves bluetooth connection open for bluetooth s-pen connection.

Personally, I don't see the hype about the GNote 2. The size is ridiculous, imo. I have some quality sized mitts, but I wouldn't want a phone that big in them.

Better be able to connect more than one thing at a time with BT. ;)

FWIW,I can successfully connect & use an ADESSO BT(2.0) mouse,MOTOROLA ELITE SLIVER BT(3.0) headset,& MOTOROLA BT(2.1) tablet keyboard to my XYBOARD 10.1 TABLET(BT2.1) simultaneously.

It was a bit tricky, having to re-pair the ADESSO BT mouse each time when using all three devices w/the tablet, but,it does work well.

I'm always sketchy about doing multiple bluetooth connections at one time, as I've never had any good luck doing it without having to go through a whole process to make sure both connections stick. I'm never opposed to it and I'm not as weary about bluetooth connection as I am with "cloud" access, but until any kind of wireless technology is flawless and quick...I prefer hardwire, if available.

Ok, on that note (edit, ninja'd, pick a note, lol), here's what I want in all future Sprint phones -

An end to support threads where people can't get BT working right in their cars -

An end to support threads that this BT stack is better with this device, but not the one that used to work -

An end to support threads that this BT stack doesn't have the range as the last one -

And an end to tricky pairing.

Because BT is a standard and it's not that adult a puzzle to come through on what's advertised and to come through on reasonable expectations.

Either just say "headsets only marked as XYZ" or just get it right without all of the BT keywords on the spec page.
