Any new phone rumors for Sprint?

I guess I'm one who doesn't understand the bad rep Samsung gets. There's so many other phones people can buy yet they act like they were forced to get a Samsung.

Well, in the past.. they weren't very supportive of their devices. Clearly, that is no longer an issue, which makes me more than happy to purchase a device of theirs. Specs were never an issue.

in the past.. before GS3...
samsung always make phones with super great specs.. anything they can think of to make the list of hardware bigger than the next phone.
which makes it hard to not purchase their phone. oohhh so shiny and powerful.

but...
once you had the phone.. it seamed that there small disconnect between the different parts of the phone. all the parts where not working at 100% team work. HTC phones by comparison; the parts add up to more than the whole and everything works great together.

and the support was not there... updates to fix issues never came.. or way late. example: GPS.. they said it was fixed.. then promise fixes.. or ignored the issue.

many have been tricked into the hype.. of the great spec phones.
and feel cheated..or fooled.

but now.. with the GS3.. samsung has learned how to do things right.. and are on the right road.

I sure hope they keep on this road and keep getting better...
this will also push other OEMs to re-evaluate.. HTC, Moto, etc...

My last HTC phone was the Evo3D for all of 3 or 4 days; maybe less. That phone felt nothing like an original Evo upgrade.
Motorola Photon was next and that also got a bad rep because of Motos propensity to lock bootloaders.

After that it was the iPhone 4S/Samsung E4GT. I opted for the touch. Prior to that the last Samsung phone I had must have been back in '01... That's a LONG time ago. :D

I was completely pleased with the E4GT (plastic and all) and never had any of the issues other people had.

I think what has pushed Samsung to keep their phones up to date and working properly is this war they have with Apple. Samsung wants to take over the smart phone game, well who do you have to measure up to? The IPhone. This war IMO has helped us and Samsung.

The EVO 3D was a great phone, and still is. I only got the SGS3 to satisfy my hunger for new tech.

I also liked the 3D, but took it back because the day after I got it they announced the EVOLTE. Now I'm happier than a hog in horse sh....you get the point. ;)

I've got 1+ years for the next big thing to drop, its gonna be really cool, I can't wait. :p

I didn't like the Evo 3D. Compared to it's predecessor it felt like a sideways step instead of an upgrade.

I'm not here to knock the phone. My point overall is choice. Rather than forcing myself to like it I got something else I did.

Fun rumors. Thanks for linking as I'm not able to keep up with the current news.
If you follow the link to the source, funny how one paragraph says it doesn't have quad core, and the next paragraph says it does have quad core. Typos? I wonder where the original original source is.

Increased viewing angle!? I didn't think the viewing angle could be much better than the Super LCD 2 in the One X/Evo 4G LTE. Its a stellar display. (though I don't think S-LCD 2 is the end all be all)
Increased color reproduction will be nice. There is some "color stepping" even on a great screen like in the One X/Evo 4G LTE. Hopefully HTC can be much more consistent with their display parts supplier as well. I saw firsthand a number of different displays for the One X/Evo 4G LTE from what I can guess as a number of different manufacturers (well, 2 really). The colors and quality of the different displays were vastly different. Same has been true of other HTC phones in the past and present. I'd like to see them step it up and get only more consistent with their display sources.

I also hope that the software and calibration are as well dialed in and top notch as the new up and coming display technology. Hardware and Software must work hand in hand to provide the best possible end product and reproduction.

Furthermore I hope that M7 is not the final name, and a typical HTC codename. M7 is too Nokia-like (E71, X6, N70, N8, N9, anybody?). Its also too car-name-y for my liking (Mazda MX-6, RX-7, CX-7 BMW M7 (concept)) etc. I know its a bit of a nit-pick.

I'm pretty happy with my SIII. As long as Samsung (and Sprint) keeps supporting the SIII in a timely fashion then it will give me confidence to purchase future phones from them.

The SIII has been a major success for them so I see no reason for them to stop supporting it, at least well into 2013.

But saying that, if Google eventually releases a Nexus 4 on Sprint with LTE and bump up in memory I may have to take a long look at that. I picked up a 32gb Nexus 7 tablet about 2 months ago and have been pretty impressed with the stock Android experience.

better viewing angles...

why is that such a selling point??
my phone.. i might want to have my friends see what i am looking at..
but they will be next to me and in front of the phone..
not way far off to the side... they hope! :P

most the time.. i want things on my phone to be private. entering codes, Texting, pictures, phone numbers..etc...
so some stranger off to the far side.. should not be able to see it clearly.
would that not be more valuable?

i think.. a viewable area is about 45degree of to each side of center.. would be great.
when would I need to see my screen from way to the side?????

I have the same date for my upgrade. My contract is up in June of the same year. I think I will wait to see what the GS5 or Note 4 will bring. lol. As for now I am happy with the way Samsung has been handling the updates with the GS3. We will soon have the Multi-View feature in 4.1.2 and other features. They are moving at a good pace.

Yeah my contract is up the same month and year as well. Kind of hard to predict what will be out over a year from now. But I agree Samsung has been on a roll so it will be interesting to see what they come up with.

One thing I will be looking for is a device with great battery life. Most phone makers will all probably have awesome screens, a lot of memory and some interesting bells and whistles on their higher end devices..

I'm hoping phone makers will be able to mix all these great features and still pack some great battery life into these devices as a standard feature.

The battery life is what I will be looking at also. I am happy with the SIII battery life so far. It is much better than my EVO 3D and Photon. But I would still like it to last a little longer. That new HTC phone sounds nice but with a 2300mah battery, I don't think is really good enough. I don't understand why these new phones don't do what Motorola has done with their battery on the Razr Maxx. I am hoping that at least Samsung continues to at least have a removable battery and sd card slot.

If Samsung's next phone utilizes the BIG.little architecture like rumored we should see better battery life. Samsung has been pretty good at steadily increasing the battery size in the device too, from 1500 in the GS1 to 2100 in the GS3. I can see the GS4 having 2400 to 2500mAh. Possibly more if they actually take a page out of Moto's book and create a thin long battery. PLEASE SAMSUNG!

As of now, I think the general consensus is that it is very unlikely for it to come to Sprint.

The lg Optimus G is pretty much the same phone as the Nexus 4, lte chip is said to be in the Nexus already so I think it still has a chance for Sprint. Sprint has or known to get the Nexus phones late.

It doesn't matter that the Optimus is basically the Nexus 4. What matters is Google and whether or not they feel they can support a CDMA Nexus as well as a GSM model. And right now that answer is, they can't.

The "X Phone" huh? Hmmm interesting. They say this phone will definitely compete with Samsung and apple. Looking forward to see what this phone is all about.
