Any new phone rumors for Sprint?

I posted on twitter that the name goes back to 1911 UK but it is still a brand name. So i guess using brand names are now a go with Google. :rolleyes:

Next up...
Little Debbie instead of Lemon cake
MARS instead of meringue
Nutella instead of Nectar

and so on and so on. Maybe Google should buy out a food company to avoid any possible trademark issues lol

its not really an issue nor is anyone really talking about it (except me) but from what i can recall from Apple sauce all the way to Jelly bean it has been and was a dessert with no corporate or brand name tied to it.

To me its unoriginal in naming a OS, but regardless of the name as long as it works and brings newer improvement, they can call it Kola Nuts for all I care.

edit: didn't see Earlys response, so basically I call ditto. lol

Comments on the news blogs are erupting into flame wars over it.

My takeaway was some people are uncomfortable with the change to product placement but don't know why, while others are defensive of Google out of habit and don't know why.

Schmidt and Rubin gone, Page promised when he took over that Android would be about Google's goals now.

I neither like nor dislike it, I'm just getting numb to anything that Larry and company think up next.

Ad blockers in Play Store gone, Gtalk retired in favor of Hangouts (catastrophe), and now a Nestl
 
This may be a bit off topic but since it involves Sprint let me shoot it out anyway.

I always felt that IFA (being held this week) is basically a European showcasing of devices much like CES is of the USA and as such would most likely be more tailored to carriers of the region, so why is it that Dan Hesse of Sprint will be making a keynote speech on Sept 6th?

Can anyone explain?

Interesting...maybe w/ the Softbank deal being finalized, future Sprint phones will all be world phones?

But is it coming to Sprint ? Nexus phones have not been a welcome to Sprint and I hope they change this.
 
I've been wanting to experience the whole nexus phone and this might finally be it.

As long as that means Sprint will have the 64gb version, it doesn't matter to me when it's released...LOL.

-EDIT- And I should add, available for purchase at 3rd party retailers, as well. I really hate when the carriers force customers to purchase directly from them.

I was way wrong, TS. Here's the quote from the article that explains.

I know right.

Oddly enough the Sprint Moto X is apparently available at Best Buy and online now...but not yet in Sprint Stores.

You can probably confirm if this is right, but I vaguely remember the same type of scenario when the S3 was released.

When I went into a Sprint store to find out if they'd be offering the 64gb version, they obviously didn't know yet, but the rep also mentioned that the higher memory versions are usually "online exclusive" directly through the Sprint website.

Your best guess...if Sprint does end up offering the 64gb version, do you think it would be an online exclusive directly through the Sprint website or do you think they'll be smart enough to offer it anywhere it can sell (including 3rd party retailers)?
