I seen the clock, it does say 12:03 constantly however this commercial isn't for the states. I highly doubt that date is for the us launch. I'm hoping it hits this month. Consider my Sprint phone is for business, this device would be perfect for me and my company

I would consider an LG Nexus, but I'm not a fan of LG's software myself. The leaked pics of the possible prototype look... interesting. Not sure about the disco ball back.

Lg nexus is already dead for me. Non-removable battery, no micro sd slot, only up to 16gb version available.
The regular Optimus g is looking more appealing with the release stating it might have a microsd slot, but at least it comes with 32gb of internal storage.
My choice is almost set on the note 2 though. Too much potential support to ignore.
Though i think the new lg optimus had some nice specs, i am still set on the note 2. Look at the software side of things. Lg doesn't have the best track record with software. Samsung, they seem to focus a lot on software lately. The note 2 isn't just hardware, but the features embedded into the software is what really fleshes out the device. I haven't seen enough of the lg to even give it any thought. Samsung, they have been showing the note 2 off left and right

There's been coverage of the Optimus G, but not as much as the Note 2 more recently. In fact, there were really early leaks of the "eclipse" as it was called early on. Thing that scares me the most about the Optimus G is that it could end up like the Photon. Great device with monster specs, but lack of US sales creating a disconnect for necessary support.

Rumor has it that in addition to LG; HTC, Samsung and Sony are coming out with a new Nexus. I've not owned a Nexus device and definitely interested. But, the OEMs are doing a better job of keeping up with software update, right? So one of the main reason for owning a Nexus is no longer a major deal. On the other hand, the Note 2 has a pretty major skin on top of Android, so software updates for it might take a bit more work.
So, I'm now torn between the new Nexus and the Note 2. The point will be mute, of course, if Sprint does not release the Nexus prior to the holidays. I just can't wait beyond that.

Negative. Those updates come directly from Google themselves. Faster than any OEM update you'll ever see. Not to mention, it's pure AOSP.
Agreed. Even though the US CDMA Nexus's take a little longer than international versions for updates.. they are still much faster than OEM's.

I kind of like the back actually. But with non-removable battery and rumored 8 and 16gb options, this phone is a no go for me.

And still the only phones in the US running Jellybean*, as far as I know. Even the Optimus G is shipping with ICS. Foo on that.
As for the LG Nexus, I'm waiting for official word from Google on specs before I write it off for lack of memory/sd card/removable battery. Some or all of these things seem possible (even likely), but until we get the official word they're just rumors.
The Optimus G announcement does seem to suggest that Sprint won't be getting an LG Nexus this holiday season, so unless there are multiple Nexus phones looks like I won't be upgrading until the Spring.That is, if the Note 2 doesn't totally wow me when I check it out in person. May have to break my pledge to only go Nexus from here on out if it does.
*Not counting custom ROMs, of course!
I don't disagree. Updates do come faster to the Nexus line, and the software/hardware combination is supposed to work better together. I'm just saying the OEMs are getting better at releasing updates. Obviously, they will never be as fast as direct from Google.

Doubt the Optimus Nexus is available for Sprint activation, considering the actual lg optimus g was announced.

But, considering Sprint kept the entire Korean version intact, along with no microsd slot, it's no longer an option for me. Loved the form factor, but no extra storage slot is such a deal breaker for me, even more than removable battery.

Yeah, there is, but no reason to believe the Nexus device ia going to be available for Sprint. Most Nexus phones sold through the play store are unlocked world phones. And att or t-mobile are only providers that can activate unlocked gsm phones.

Given that the rumors claim the LG Nexus will have an appalling amount of internal storage and no LTE radio, I'm betting on multiple Nexus phones even more now. The LG phone, if the rumors are true, would be a good, cheap, unlocked "international" version that Google could sell for a song on the Play Store, much like the 8gb Nexus 7. However, US customers are going to want a phone with more storage and LTE support. That points to other Nexus phones, such as the rumored Galaxy Nexus 2 and the Sony Xperia Nexus.
Will Sprint get any of them? Good question. I suspect they will, eventually, but again I think it won't be until the spring. But maybe I'll be surprised, and we'll see a Sprint Nexus phone for the holidays.

I'm anxious to see how the LG Optimus G (Nexus) feels in hand... in terms of build quality.
I have the GS3 now, and it's just a little too cheap and plastic feeling for me. I hear the LG has a nice build, and the back is glass... which is a lot more luxurious and better than plastic IMO

Having a glass back just means better chance of damaging the phone if dropped. Take the iPhone for instance. I love the build of the sgs3. Sure, it's got a plastic feel to it, but the device can take a lot more beating than most other phones on the market. It's lighter and more shock absorbent than glass.
