Root Anybody running CM7 source?

I am assuming I need to wipe everything to go from 6.1 to 7 but after that, you dont have to wipe when you flash the latest build of 7 from a previous 7, right?

It is probably safe to flash CM7 builds over themselves. I have been doing so, but always backup and keep up to date on the XDA thread.
Also, If you see a change in the file size you might want to wipe. I know I would.

humm have been flashing since 32 over its self and i only had to do a wipe between 38 and 40 but i am on 41 and having no problem with flashing over its self ... just make sure you keep track of what is on your sd card you dont want to downgrade it might be harmful to your Phone

I don't wanna come in here and sound like "Mr. Know-it-all" but I think you guys are wayyy off-base.

Here's the website you should be flashing the builds from:

dirLIST - Index of: home/

Ever since build #33 these are absolutely perfect except for camcorder not working. (It will be working in the next build [#37])

Let me repeat myself. If you flash the newest build as of this post, #36, you will be running basically absolutely perfect Gingerbread on your Dinc. Leaps and bounds better than OMGB or that other Evervol build.

I've been flashing these builds one after another for the past 3 days. Just keeps getting faster and smoother. Gingerbread CM7 FTW.

Dude, I'm all over this. Downloading now. I absolutely love CyanogenMod and when I flash anything else, I always come back to it. Gingerbread CyanogenMod is what I want, and if you say this works for the most part, then I'm gonna try it. This is what having a custom ROM is all about. It just doesn't get any better than this.

I am not a new rom-flasher, ive probably gone through maybe 8-10 different ones.

I am very picky, i can usually find fault with a paper bag lol.

I must say, i am absolutely floored with this rom. Or blown away, or any other way of saying i am in love with it.

Ive only had it installed for a few hours, and everything i touch, i love!!

The most recently was when i went to add my typical "Power Control" widget. I couldnt believe there were options in there for what i can have show on there! Then i was blown away by how many options!

Then i saw i can disable the lock screen?? wtfff my mind is in orgasm mode right now.

Cannot believe i held out so long.

Or is this all Gingerbread stuff? Either way, i love it and as long as this #38 doesnt fail on me, and as long as #39+ doesnt offer anything new and exciting .. i am sticking with this.

Haha... now who's the affectionate one??? Hmmm??? LMAO!!!

Now you know how good CM is!!

And just so you know... those are CyanogenMod features you're orgasming over. In my opinion of course, there's just nothing better than CyanogenMod.

Does anyone know of any kernels people are having luck with in regards to CM7? I have been poking around the XDA thread and not having much luck.

Typical CM Rom bug, the WiFi icon isn't always there on "awake" and I have to toggle WiFi to get it back.

Been in every version of CM I've used...Otherwise its pretty damn nice!

That is odd. I have never had this issue with a CM ROM. It seems a few others on XDA are experiencing the same problem though.

Do you have your wifi sleep policy set to stay on? By default wifi turns off after the screen turns off. I have my wifi set to always stay on and have never had a problem with any CM rom.

Exactly, but its supposed to turn back on. :-D

Its not a deal breaker, especially with toggle widgets, but CM is the only ROM I've ever used that does this.

Been using the CM6 nightlies and upgraded to CM7 Build 41 when it popped up and no problems here!

Gonna try it with a custom kernel.

yeah, I am installing 45 now. Looks like a bigger change. I would wipe.

Edit: Maybe I wont wipe. I'll let you guys know how it goes.

gridlock mentioned 2 or 3 pages ago 45 will have a new wifi module, or something. Said that to me because i had wifi issues

but im sure there are other things, if they went through 4 builds behind the scenes lol
