Root Anybody running CM7 source?

How difficult is this to flash? I'm a little new to flashing roms, and have been hesitant to try OMGB because of a few work-arounds that I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with yet.

Is installing this any more involved than just downloading and flashing?

No work arounds necessary.

Simply download >> place in root of directory >> wipe data >> wipe cache >> install zip from sd card >> flash

Bingo.

Sweet, thanks. I'm loving CM 6.1 but I've been wanting to try a stable Gingerbread rom for a while now.

I realize that its unfinished, but how stable is it compared to 6.1?

Just flashed #38 i dont see the market tho

or gmail

whats up?

EDIT, nvm im assuming i have to flash the gapps zip still. Whats with that?

Awesome looking rom. Now, big question here, I had to move Angry Birds from my sd card to my internal with omgb6. Now how do I get the game back? I mean my saved levels, where are they?

Dev's aren't allowed to include Google Apps in their ROMs for legal reasons. They can be flashed separately however.

I always lost all my Saved games from Angry birds when flashing a new ROM. Did you do a Titanium Backup App+data prior to wiping?

I'm going to go back and do that now. I think what I'll do is move it back to SD then backup, then restore. Let you know.

Edit: It worked. I nandroid restored my system, moved AB to the SD Card, Titanium backup, restore cm7, restore angry birds data and it's all there. I actually restored app+data but I think I only needed the data since it was already installed.

All set up. This rules. Only slight issue I've had so far is having to click links multiple times on Dolphin. Could be a fluke though, I haven't even rebooted yet been having too much fun setting up. Here's something I never thought I'd see...no texting lag while replying to this post. Always had lag on AF for some reason.

Instantly my daily Rom. Frickin love it.

I have the same issue with Dolphin, but I thought it might just be Dolphin because I was having the same problem on Skyraider Athena.

Can't get navigation to work..anyone else having issues?

thanks for the tip to check it. mine says "Checking for navigation availability" if i just open navigation.

BUT if i load up Maps, and then click on another point on the map .. it let me navigate to that address.

I had problems when going straight to nav. Then I opened maps, it found me fine. Long pressed a nearby area at random, chose to navigate, chose driving directions and it started working. All good now.

Any idea when this will go "stable" and put on ROM manager?

I have a new SD and battery coming. When I get them, I would love to try 7!

It won't be going stable.

Gridlock is just doing these until the Cyanogen team starts posting the Nightlies.

Which they said would be in about a week.

Native browser is very responsive for me, links come up right away. New issue with it however...sometimes when I click it highlights an area near the link that seems to do nothing. If I increase the screen size a little, I can get the link highlighted. Wondering if it has to do with the reflow after pinch (or similar) in cyanogen settings. I've enabled it like I have on other cyan Roms. Need to play around some more.

One super minor bug...push power then reboot the options are ok and ok, missing the cancel. Barely worth mentioning at this point but just noticed anyway.

This is my first time loading a CM rom

Mind explaining the difference between what im using, and what a nightly is?

this seems stable as hell, why wouldnt they make it a stable release?

Well...really there is no difference. Just the label of being a "Nightly" I guess. And also where and who you download the updates from.

The nightlies are just what they call the daily updates which could fix or even break new things with each release. Nightlies generally are not supported and are quoted as being "highly experimental".

These builds are essentially nightlies, but once the buildbot starts releasing them I'm pretty sure they'll be available through ROM Manager.
