[APP] GrooVe IP - Google Voice VoIP

has the problem with the Samsung Intercept been solved? If not... do you think this will be an easy fix?

Nothing that can be done within the app. The issue is in the audio driver on the phone. The only fix we know of is to load a different rom. There's at least one that has a fix for the audio driver.

OK... so... explain this to me.

I have an intercept phone and if I buy groove ip and use it as is when the phone rings I can only have a conversation through the speakerphone? What if after I answer I turn the speakerphone off... then what?

Also... I have a program to root the phone... I could load another ROM... which one do you recommend that would work with groove ip?

I'm not sure if it works with bROM. I was just answering the question. My wife got rid of her Intercept due to hardware problems. She's rocking a Wildfire S now. And bROM is for Brandon's ROM.

Home VOIP being on the same wifi as GrooveIP causes problems (not that I'd ever need to call home from home). If I dial my home# it rings and I can pick up (lots of echo). But if I dial my GV# from home, it goes straight to voicemail, no rings. Seems odd it will work one way but not the other.

I can do the same at work and no problems either way. What is causing GV to send a call from my home number straight to voicemail?

edit: after looking into my GV settings, even though I have it set to ring GTalk, if I open contacts and look at me or my wife (which has my home# listed), it says "if this contact calls you, ring my cell"... my cell is off, so I guess it goes straight to VM. I just changed it go to Google Talk, and it now rings my device. Very strange that all my contacts are set to ring "family phones", but my wife and I were set to go to VM. So if your phone's not ringing check deep into GV settings....

We changed what Auto maps to. On the Galaxy Nexus Auto now maps to Android Default instead of VoIP.

To GrooVe IP all numbers are the same, it just sends the number to Google Voice to make the call. So not sure why some numbers would behave different than others. For the auto-attendant, try pressing mute before dialing the digits. Mute will block any voice or background noise but won't mute the digits. It could be something is distorting the digits.

I found lately that if something fishy seems to be going on with GrooVe IP a reboot of the phone usually solves it. That's was seemed to resolve it in this instance as well. Thank you.

to SNRB: Tonight I will try the kernel update of my intercept phone... if I then pay for Groove IP in the market... and for some reason the kernel does not fix the speakerphone problem... can I get a refund?

I've already purchased two of your apps for my phone and my wife's phone... now I'll try my son's phone.

BACKGROUND:

I have a Galaxy 4.0 Android Tablet and am using a LG Tone HBS-700 bluetooth wireless headset with a virgin mobile mifi card.

So far In TROUBLESHOOTING, I have checked:
-Keep Screen On
-Wifi Tablet (The Galaxy 4.0 is phone size tablet without a sim card)
-Synchronize Voice

Mic Source is set to Auto (which is the default)

Built-in Dialer Preference
-Always use Groove IP is checked

Accept Calls on Answer (left unchecked greyed out)

EVERYTHING WORKS GREAT EXCEPT

THE PROBLEM:

Receiving calls---
The incoming call rings-
I tap the green phone icon
It says connected
But i'm not connected!

Essentially I cannot answer an incoming call.

Help Please.

Thank You!

Yes, but you'll have to email me for the refund because I'll need a copy of your receipt to look up the order.

Increase the Accept Call Time in the troubleshooting settings. To connect the call Google Voice requires a '1' to be dialed. The app tries to do that automatically, but it may be sent out too early. If you manually press '1' or increase that accept time that should fix the issue.

Extending the delay from 9
tried intervals of 5 from 15 (15, 20, 25 and 30) didn't work ....

but tapping the keyboard and then pressing "1" does connect the call. Looking forward to the long term fix (without manual intervention)

but i'm a happy camper now that it works.

That's odd, not sure what would cause that setting not to work.

I have a Galaxy Player 5.0. Worked great up until the last update. I have a Time-Temp number I call, usually picks up right away and starts spewing the weather. Since last update it rings, says connected, but silence. Same with all other numbers I call. I just checked the Troubleshooting "Wifi Tablet" box and works now (although a bit more staticy). This may solve "ipixels" problem too.

Also noticed sound comes out of rear speakers only when the wifi box is checked.

What did you change that would have caused the need to check that box?

Changed nothing for the Galaxy Player 5.0. Only changes were for ICS and the LG Enlighten.

WiFi tablet sends voice through the music stream instead of the voice call stream. Did you install any new apps? Could be something interfering.

After a reboot, started working as should without wifi checked. I was trying out a few Android "assistants", maybe one effected something. Very nice app! Very close to giving up my phone!
