Root [APP] QuickClock Overclock Assistant

so i was playing with the update the other day, and things are running great. got my settings settled out, so no need to open it to often.

but i opened it and noticed that every time i hit calculate, my settings would go from round numbers to odd ones :
IE
350
750
1000
1250
would turn into
300
743
989
1250

wtc? any reason its changing to random numbers and not the ones i set?

Hmmm not really sure. Couldn't seem to reproduce it.

Ok in trying to reproduce it i didnt see it either.
However, im doing the stress test and on my current settings, i get about 60 lag attacks in about 800-1000 sec
Is that normal? I got it down to 32 in 1000 so i thought i was going in the right direction but the next test was 76 in 1900. Obviously longer time but still...

Best way to handle the stress test is to run it for time X with no overclocking then run it for the same amount of time X with overclocking and compare.

I always get one lag on start and roughly about one every 10 secs with a stable speed. You might try rebooting before starting so no apps are resident and maybe in airplane mode (no radios active).

So I reworked my settings, and wouldnt you know im getting a LOT more random reboots lately? One while navigating yesterday, one talking on the phone today.. I think im going to go back to my tried and true settings. this seems to be good, but even with a 20 stability buffer, it needs a bit more work :/

I heard about this app from droid-life, and thought i would research it. The lag testing thing is a fantastic idea, but it seems like several people are having issues with stability.

I know from my own very laborious testing with jrummy's app that my phone is not stable @ 300mhz below about 26vsel. I know this is only one phone, but it seems to me that the vsels you guys are running for 300mhz are just too low. This would instantly explain the reboot issues. This app has a ton of merit for stability testing, i will not knock that. Panda looks to be johnny on the spot with issue resolution and i hope development continues.

I've been running mine with a low clock speed of 350MHz with a VSEL of 18 without any reboots or issues at all. I can run it at 300MHz with a VSEL of 15 but it tends to take a second or so for the phone to wake up when receiving a call, bumping the clock speed up to 350MHz took care of the issue for me.

There seems to be a compatibility issue with this app and GB. I can't d/l it or restore it. I msg'd the dev and asked him to keep us informed here.

what are the chances to get this updated so that it will play nice with the gingerbread 2.3.3 leak...soon to be OTA?

For the time being, if you own both quickclock and jrummy's app, you can easily export your old settings (assuming you backed them up in Titanium beforehand) from quickclock and import them into Droid Overclock. My highest quadrant is 2156 at my 100% stable "balanced preset" 1221mhz/64v, although most runs are around 2050. Weird behavior though, with some stock runs coming out at 1000, 1600, etc. Kinda strange. I haven't killed apps/airplane mode, so I'm assuming it's just background tasks causing it to dip like that.

(release day droidX)

how is yours not working steve? i thought mine was not working then i clicked on the profiles and my balanced setting loaded. Before it was showing stock voltages

Welp, it doesn't show up in the market anymore and when I go to restore from TiBu, it won't let me. It shows it's there, but won't let me restore it. It will only let me delete it.

I'm not the only one having this issue. A bunch of folks over at DroidXWorld are too.

when was the backup made? i refreshed mine right before going to ginger

Hehe, being the wise old man that I am, I did a nandroid well after flashing gb. I had a lot of apps installed, but I didn't backup after I installed widgets. I hadn't gotten to it. I have alot of widgets. I use goLauncher with about 13 homescreens. :)

lol i want to see what you can stuff on 13 screens one day, im not sure you understood my meaning though. i backed up quickclock in Titanium right before Gingerbread

Received email from Dev. He said he'll be able to get to it by May. Busy with finals and all.

just wondering what you backed up in TB and what you restored? i figured it would be good to backup all the apps+system data but i wanst planning on restoring anything. i figured i shouldnt restore anything and just start fresh. just made the backup just in case.

Just finished installing the latest 2.3.3 GB leak which is rooted and deodexed. Quickclock is now in the market.

Calibration ran just fine.
