AT&T Pre-Order and Release date discussion thread

I just noticed on the AT&T Wireless website - to pre-order it no longer says that it will arrive on or before the 21st. Now it says "Arrives on or before 6/28/2012"
I sure hope that is for people pre-ordering now and not those who pre-ordered when it had the date of the 21st!!
Between this and the 16/32 GB uncertainly, I'm starting to get a little miffed....

I really hope it ships tomorrow so we can get it (hopefully) Thursday. I will be upset if it comes next week...
Yeah i saw that today...yesterday it was on or after the 21st ......i ordered on the 6th of June and then it said on or after the 18th .....well the 18th is here and just about over ..... i called earlier this morning they said it should ship today .....just called now and there saying i should have a tracking number on the 21st....but the whole 28th crap I'm sure that's just orders piling up.....and if you order today.....but seems like nobody from at&t can give you an answer.....well i mean they are giving me answers ....but tooooo many that aren't right .....any body out there get an email confirmation of it shipping yet......prolly NOT!
I hear you, I returned the EVO LTE and tomorrow would make 2 weeks with no phone. I have an iPhone I can use over wifi for email and games but nothing to txt or make calls from. I do have a landline.
Hopefully we hear something today because i want my phone, lol
i spoke to a rep after 40 minutes of talking to him i was able to get out of him that they (corporate) received the phones yesterday and we proceeding to fill the orders and ship them. but who knows if that was true or just a default answer they were told to give us.

Come on AT&T. They were supposed to ship out yesterday so they would be here ON the 21st.

They never promised that. The order button said they will "arrive on or before the 21st". Does that mean they arrive at your house, or does that mean they arrive at a warehouse? If I had to predict, I would guess most people who ordered the first shipment will get their phone Friday or maybe even Thursday.
I remember getting the Captivate 2 years ago. The release day was on a Sunday, but I walked into the store on the Friday before and bought one no problem.
Just saying...
I'm in a same situation. Some one offered me a really good price on my note but he needs it by Friday. Having my finger crossed that I will get my s3 on Thursday.

ATT has not even charged my account yet and glad I did not wait and picked up an International Blue unit last week. No matter what everyone decides to do the G3 is well worth the wait
When I called that # and entered my phone # I got connected to a live rep. He check my order and said that there was no tracking info but as far as he knows AT&T still plans to ship/receive by the 21st. I ordered on the 6th.

I know bro. I know a guy that works at a radio shack and he says when this happens it's most likely because of customs. Regardless of the failed injuction.
Just because something gets held up in customs doesn't mean there is an injunction. If you are trying to bring a lot of anything into the country, customs gets nervous because it is so much easier to hide something else.
Back on the release date, I was chatting with the guy at the cell phone section in Target today and he said they don't even have a release date in their computer.
I wouldn't be surprised if ATT is planning on just overnighting them tomorrow to arrive Thursday. Thursday is the release date. Some companies take release dates seriously. When Diablo 3 came out, players could download and even install the game ahead of time but could not actually play it until the official release date. That way everyone could actually be ready by the time the game launched and some players with much faster connections wouldn't have an advantage if everyone had to start downloading at the launch time. (Or so I understand, I haven't actually played the game.) If ATT/Samsung started shipping the phone via standard ground on Monday, customers with slightly more efficient distribution chains might have lucked out and received their phone a day or two early, while others might have a lazy driver somewhere along the line and get their phone a day or two late. By overnighting them all, they have guaranteed next-day delivery and can be assured that the launch day is the actual launch day and not "the launch day, give or take a couple days". This might sound expensive, but I have to think ATT/Samsung are able to get decent volume pricing deals on shipping, especially with a large one-day order.

Hey I spoke with a local Inventory Distributor for AT&T and he confirmed that the units are at the warehouse and are scheduled to ship on 6/21 the actual release date is 6/24 but preorders will start receiving theirs from 6/21 on forth.. Let's keep our fingers CROSSED

I ordered my S3 on June 6th. called the 866 number referenced above and the agent told my my phone would arrive on 6/21. He said it had not shipped yet so I am assuming in will overnight tomorrow.
Keeping my fingers crossed. Will know for sure tomorrow - if I get a tracking number and if it states thursday delivery.

I think if it was stuck in customs, it would be all over the news as was the recent customs stoppage of the HTC phones. Ah well, I'm tired of looking at the order status every other hour... lol.. who am I kidding - I'll still look at it. If the phones are not here by the 21st, then I'll blame Apple regardless. hahaha
I think if the stores sell them before we get them, I will not be happy. I'd prob end up buying it at the store and returning the mail order one when that arrived.
