Root Automatically booting directly into ClockWork Recovery

So i updated the CWR app yesterday, an when i opened CWR, it told me that the latest update fixed booting into recovery when trying to bump charge. Anyway i tried to bump charge last night and it still rebooted into recovery. After work today i will delete recovery an reinstall it an uninstall an reinstall the app to see if that makes a difference.

So far, my best results have been to AC charge, an when it hits 100% to boot into recovery an wipe battery stats. Ive done this 2 or 3 times, an now when i unplug from charging, it drops to like 98 or 99 instead of like 95 or 96 battery.

just curious, did you actually flash the update? or just assume it had updated cause you got a mesage when you opened it?

i opened rom manager() and was notified there was an update for CWM. i flashed it and it took me to version 3.0.2.5.

powered off and plugged it in...

drumroll... :D

it stayed off! it prolly actually fixed the issue for me cause i dont really care, lol. i never bump charge. i plug it in when i go to sleep, and unplug when i get up.

+1 flashing the update worked! No other fix I tried worked and I'm still not sure about fastboot working but I can definitely charge the phone while its off, finally!

still no fastboot but thats a different problem, hopefully soon we will have a list of apps that are known to block fastboot.

Working for me too! :)

Bummer about fastboot, I was hoping CWM was what was blocking it, hmmm hopefully we can figure it out.

I think the fastboot issue was solved in another thread (forget where it is and I'm at work so can't go searching now).

What we found was that if connected to 4G or Wifi, phone would fastboot. If connected to 3G, phone would not fastboot. This was true of my phone as I never had a problem with fastboot. I forced 3G on (I'm in a great 4G area), and was not able to fastboot.

Anyone confirm this doesn't work for them?

Edit: Okay...I searched anyway :D

I can confirm that it does not work for me on 4G, will try WiFi when I get home (stupid paranoid work and there not letting us use WiFi!!! :P )

Okay...thanks

I still don't grasp why I can fastboot when on WiFi and 4G but can't while on 3G...that just doesn't make sense and thus...really doesn't surprise me that it's not universal between all devices.

Remember back to CES when that feature was touted? Haven't see any advertisements or anything about it since. It's like the feature kinda worked...for some phones, so they just dropped it altogether as a "feature".

lol yep, I'm thinking it is just a buggy feature period. I don't really have a need for it so it doesn't bug me. Just one of those things that I will try to get to work if I can.

Sometimes after bumping I'll hit the power button, the phone vibrates, but I'm stuck at a black screen and the phone is a paperweight until I pull the battery. I keep fastboot on. Has anyone else experienced this or something similar? I'd say it happens 20% of the time I bump charge

Mine had done that as well but i would wait another few minutes and retry then it would boot up slowly. Now that I have flashed the new recovery and turned wifi on I can fastboot and charge while the phone is off.

as a matter of fact... i have powered off a couple times, then pushing the power button does nothing. i have to either pull the battery,or power on/vol down and enter hboot to get it to power on.

not quite the same, but a power on issue the freaked me the eff out first time it happened!

i dont keep fastboot on,cause it prohibits me from getting into hboot.
