Root Awesome Android AOKP

Not yet been very busy with another project. Had enough time last night to fix Wi-Fi and USB tether on awesome android and a few other minor things. Squashed the direct WiFi issue too. So my ROM has full WiFi/hotspot functionality

Lord no! I leave that sorta stuff to you pros lol. I'm a graphics guy not a coder or dev lol

Want to make me a light weight boot animation for awesome android? I usually make them but, I've been feeling lazy.

Hey shin is it just me or does that paranoid android and cm10 and aokp take up a lot more room then normal? It's saying it's out of space on the phones end after like two apps

I noticed this too. I thought somehow my most recent rom backups had saved to the phones local memory at first. Good to know I'm not just missing something

Hell yeah! That would be great. I'm still a big fan of the original AA mass effect starship boot screen, it was pretty awesome

I noticed this also scratching my head when I got a low memory notification

Shouldn't be out of memory. Internal storage data and system storage are All separate partitions. Anything done to system shouldn't affect data or internal SD. I would check your internal storage. you guys did a full wipe right?

I see what it is. Not mounting internal SD im gonna have to look into that next week. Off to sleep have to work tonight

well i dunno why it would give you the low memory thing thought, if anything not mounting the internal memory as an sd card would give you MORE memory for installing apps... the only problem is all extra files would need to be on the sd card, but alot of phones are like that. having 2.7gb of space just for applications never seemed like much of a problem thats why we didnt fix it, low memory would just suggest that your sd card is almost full or something is horribly wrong with your phone

Nah I have a 32gb sdcard and almost 11gb are free and the phone reads that so but the low memory notification took me the the phones internal storage and its barely any can't remember an exact number of what was left on mines

i dunno then, kuz ive been running cm10 for a while now and i dont get that notification... i have over 300mb used and over 2gb free, so its not a cm problem unless its a new one since i last updated. so i dunno, if you figure out how to fix wifi direct for this rom tho shin make sure you give us the heads up so we can fix cm too

I'm sure it has something to do with the ROM because on cm10 I never got it either and I'm a app whore lol

Here is what zte said to my email about releasing the kernal source and jb update

Thank you for contacting ZTE.

End-users are advised not to upgrade their phone versions until the software is released formally.

Regarding your inquiry, we would recommend that you'd better contact your network operator or dealer to consult.

Because the android updated is based on the demand of your local network operator or dealer,

For Kennel Source,it is confidential, and we have confirmed with relevant technical engineer,we can not provide.

Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us!

Best Regards

lol. yea thats the same letter they send to everyone who mentions upgrades. doesnt matter what you ask about, if you put the word upgrade in there they send you this. the exact same letter has been posted multiple times, once it was even sent to someone complaining about their update b09 requesting fixes for the play store issues and what not. basically its the nicest way they could say, its not our fault, and pawn us off on someone else, even if it is their fault
why anyone even continues to try to contact them about anything i dont understand, look around the forums, this exact same letter has been seen numerous times and it means nothing more than zte wants to place blame and responsibility for everything on everyone but themselves, they wont even admit they write their own software

also, this is a good sign that their rumor of an update was just bullshit, one minute they say there will be an upgrade, the next they say to talk to your provider kuz its up to them. and message them back, tell them its not confidential, that they are legally required to distribute the "kernel" source or they cant release it. GPL licensed things cant be confidential or they will be banned from ever distributing another android device, they are lieing to you

https://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-2.0.html
that is the legal documentation that zte was forced to agree to them moment they made a copy of android. they dont like it, they can make windows phones, nobody will buy them, but they wont have to release their source code since that seems to be such a huge issue

also if the updated code is so confidential, why wasnt the original screwed up code?
its on their own site
http://support.zte.com.cn/support/index.aspx
all we want is the fixes which they are legally required to distribute if they want to continue making android devices, and if they dont start playing nice we might just have to start a petition that will end up prohibiting them from ever distributing another android device again, and i dont really think they want that. we could make it illegal for them to ever sell another android device again so they better watch their asses

I say we do it. Start a class action lawsuit. Does every other company who makes android devices release there kernal? Not sure but probley. Screw it man.

legally they are supposed to, the big ones all do, sometimes ya gotta harass em a little the little unknown companies dont kuz they dont care enough, what few users they have dont know the devices true brand because its in 12 different variants like coby and sylvania and all that crap, then those who actually know what they are looking at and could make it all the way up the chain to the original manufacturer normally avoid those devices like the plague, so you could gather everyone with that device that could actually manage to comprehend what you are trying to do and it still wouldnt be a full page of names on a petition. zte though, they are big enough to be noticed and singled out and i dont think they get that. class action lawsuit isnt really going to be something we can do tho i dont think, we could sue them for their crapped up phones but not for not releasing the source, all we could do their is get their permission to make android devices taken away and put them out of business

Yeah, I was actually locked in on getting boost force, because of the specs. But now I'm not too sure because zte makes it. I know its going to be awahile before cwm and roms come out because zte probley did something in the partions again. Why do they make it so hard for people who want custom rom? That is the 1st reason I got the sequent. Because the og warp had great devs. Anyways.

Don't worry I got a lot in the works might even make my way to the boost force at some point. So it would have cwm before to long. I will be starting work on the HTC one sv. In the next week.
