Root Awesome Android Update 4 Released

This has probably already be solved, but is there a way to get voicemail working? I had to go back to stock to get voicemail notifications:mad:

Although after install of update 5, voicemail worked, I needed to to install Titanium Backup, to ... restore, the Titanium Backed-up apps.

That meant restoring the saved version of voice-mail etc.

In my case, I found voicemail worked, but, something has changed the quality of the image of certain contacts. Now the image are badly pixilated, lost all sharpness and HD appearence.

Inside this thread there's a fix, for Launcher Icon size in Rom ToolBox/build.prop Editer/ change Rro.sf.icd_density build, back to the stock 240 .... but that doesn't help here.

Maybe i can get some help?

I think i might have done something wrong, i installed the ROM and most (not all) of my apps would crash, Gmail would crash Pinger would crash Boat browser would crash etc. I thought my phone was broken. Until i went back to stock and all these apps worked, the phone even seemed snappier.

I followed all the instructions to a T, from rooting, to CWM, installing through terminal, to the room it's self. Everything worked the first try on everything i did.

I installed the update 3 of the rom first, rebooted into it, then went back to CWM and installed update 4 and 5 one after another.

Could this sequence (lol) be why?
 
You need to do a factory reset before installing, my rom doesn't have boat browser. Sure you didn't install cyanoid?

I did a factory reset, I downloaded boat browser (along with pinger, etc.) my self. Im positive i installed you rom, your logo is unmistakable. I updated my original post with more info.

I decided to try again this mourning and found that if i wiped the cache/dalvik before applying the updates, i also booted into the phone before applying each one. it worked fine. Everything is running great no freeze or app crashes or reboots. Thanks bro.

ROMs and updates on GOO manager and on the first page of this thread are the same files. Recomendation: Use your computer to download the file and save it to your SD card.

By the way, Shinjitsu_Rom-update-3 really ISN'T AN UPDATE. It is a ROM 100% COMPLETE. So, you need to do the 3 steps before the installation. 1) Factory Reset 2) Clear/Wipe Cache and 3) Advanced -> Clear/Wipe dalvik-cache.

Being clear, is always a good idea.

Shortcut's save time, and energy, and are the way pro's communicate quickly among each other.

New comers need hand holding, and guidance, because they DON'T know yet, what they will after some time doing this stuff.

Thanks for making clear for newbies, what only time and effort and study provides.
 
my rom will be updated next week and will be based on the ZTE B09 update! so be on the look out. im going to test out the zte update now.
 
this new update is 100x better then the b07 my rom is based on. i am definetly going to base my rom on it. Expect Awesome Android to be smooth as butter on the new release.

Sweeeeet, can't wait for that update. I really like your ROM. I wonder what exactly B09 fixes or changes? does it have a log?

Been there, done that, ... get that rest, drink fluids, (not the femented kind either).

That damned flu is at best, going to suck you dry of your energy, at worst kill you.

So, turn off the computer, take off the thinking cap. Nap, and then nap some more, than get some sleep.

Shinru you are the man! Thanks for your hard work! I am sure you alreadyy know, but I figured I could give feedback of any issues I've encountered (update 3 is the latest that I have downloaded):

*Upside down camera (I've seen posts on this one, so I'm sure it's not news)
*Gallery stops when try to edit a photo (says "Unfortunatley the process com.google.android.gallery3d has stopped)
*I removed Google plus but quickly realized it caused the voice recognition and maps for te navigator to stop working so I reinstalled it and they starteed working again.
*Overall response time seems slow between screens and bringing up keyboard.

That's all I've noticed so far but I am looking forward to b09 update and hopefully that release will have a way to address the data throttling war boost seems to be embarking on! SHINRU TO THE RESQUE!!!:smokingsomb:
 
Hey Shinru...
Any idea why the voice dictation "mic" doesn't appear on keyboard? Not a critical error or anything but very useful at times. Was there and worked on 1st ROM but not update #3+ ...
 
i canceled basing it on B09 to many issues with that update, the voicemail issues have been resolved. the new kernel from b09 fixes alot of issues as far as speed and ram. so it will be like having b09 with a twist of cm10 on the new update :)
