Root Awesome Android Update 4 Released

Had a quick question and may possibly show my noobie status here, but does the front facing camera work with this ROM, and if so, how to access it? Thanks!

Hey Shinru, I want to use your ROM, can you tell me the steps on how to flash it. I'm on Rooted Stock B07 gonna flash rooted stock B09. How do I .flash yours from rooted stock B09? Thanks in advance/

you would flash it from b09 the same way you would flash it from b07 or cyanogenmod or cyanoid or anything. doesnt matter what rom you have when you start the process its getting replaced. and as far as the procedure, its explained right there... i dont really see where the confusion is

the instructions for installing it are there in the section you quoted in your own post, it cant get much clearer it can only be repeated which seems a little redundant to me

also as i said it replaces the rom you have installed, meaning if you were upgrading to stock b09 for any other reason than to actually use it, it is pointless, you will not benefit in any way from updating stock first. it doesnt matter what you have on your phone when you install aa, it deletes it and installs over it

My apoligies junkie, just a bit confusing to me. Still a bit of a noob here. I'm going to B09 from a backup. Would I have to clear cache, dalvik cache and wipe data before restoring the rooted stock B09 backup? & after restoring that to flash shinrus ROM i have to flash those zips one after the other from bottom to top? and that's it? again thanks in advance.

no ur good no apology necessary, im just letting you know that the instructions are all there, and that going from b07 to b09 before flashing aa will do nothing its all just gonna get erased anyway

yes, you would install from bottom to top as the order states, and yes you will have to wipe your data, just do a factory reset from the cwm main menu that will take care of all data and cache

Thanks a lot man, well I ran in to a problem. I installed all 4 zips one after the other and some things aren't working. Home button doesn't work, it won't let me add an account. What should I do?

that i cant tell you. i have no experience with this rom really. or cyanoid for that matter. i dont spend much time actually using my phone for anything other than a source of internet. if i could get it to remain powered and stable while tethering i would only touch the thing about once a month lol. so ive only used cyanogenmod because i help work on it, and stock

nice lol. Damn, i flashed back to stock B09 it seems this ROM is still buggy. Hopefully shinru will respond soon to see why I'm running in to this problem. What do you use for tethering?

on stock rom i use wifi tether for root users. on cyanogenmod we managed to get both the native wifi tether and usb tethering working. still no bluetooth tether, but thats because we still have no bluetooth lol

For some reason Foxfi won't work on this phone. That's what I usually would use on my previou phone which was the Samsung Transform Ultra

same program i used on the same exact phone, but its incompatable with this phone. wifi tether for root users works fine for the most part though as long as you set it up properly. generic ics/jb wlan0 for the device and you should be good to go

How do I set it up? How do you have yours set up?

all i really remember doing is installing it from the play store and selecting the generic ics/jb device profile past that i dont think there is really anything to it beyond setting up security

Where is that option at? I got infrastructure mode to work by changing the device profile to Zte blade but when it starts tethering it starts up with errors

you sure you got the newest version? dont get it from an outside source, find it on the play store. i used to have an older version that had that issue, but the newest most updated version has alot more options

Hey junkie, I have about 5 Bluetooth headsets. I use none of them. Pm me. I'll send you one

At first I got it from XDA but once installed I updated it on the Play Store.

hey shin, i was just browsin around on upp and noticed you havent updated the AA thread since update 2. i hope you dont mind but i modified the OP on there to reflect the current changelog to update 3 and then put the link to the zip up as well

you might wanna check the color scheme on the flashing order though, i wanted to make it stick out well enough but not hurt anybodies eyes so i went with an orange but its not the prettiest thing in the world lol

np, i am a mod over there now and i have little else to do with my powers, other than pick on dizzle of course but theres only so much you can do to the guy lol

If its the home button flash Google apps package. If its something other then posted then please let me know.
