Root Awesome Android Update 4 Released

hell if i know, never seen it lol. like ive said i have simple needs and dont use the phone itself alot so ive never gone through the trouble of trying to get aa for myself

cant remember exactly but its ics slider with camera on one side and unlock on the other....

im working on getting it on my stock b09 with no luck so far

Yeah I seen you talking about that. Stock Lockecreen sucks. I don't like it at all. The original ICS is nice:)
 
yea till you start pocket dialing and stuff lol. the lock screen is to prevent things like that, the stock lock screen kinda promotes accidental usage
 
that would explain that. though it doesnt happen all too often but still, the whole point of a lock screen is to have to do something that you wouldnt normally do by accident, poking the screen is not really cutting it. plus the stock lock screen is probably lacking features as well, though i dont pay that much attention so i couldnt tell you for sure
 
Is the exact same layout with the slide lockscreen just different method if unlocking if I remember correctly.
 
well, at its base yes it looks very similar, but im talking about widgets you can add to it and things like that
 
Ahhhh right ok. Never seen widgets in any other ics build except like a sense based one. Only seen it in jb primarily cm 10.1 which is currently in my tablet and I love the lockscreen widgets.

Yeah I never had it accidentally unlock....it serves it purpose.....but I hate the fact u can't change default camera and I'd rather have a slider

I tried flashing the gapps, but it still doesn't work, and now for some reason, my Google play keeps stopping itself. Any ideas? I've tried reflashing everything and it still does the same thing, it must be something with this ROM because it works just fine for CM10.
 
ok, so looking at it now, I just realized that the gapps for cm10 is older than this one, i'm downloading now and then we'll see if that works lol.

(sorry for the triple post if a moderator wants to combine the posts, that's fine by me lol.)

EDIT: Ok, so it turns out it was because i had the wrong gapps, i flashed the right one from this thread and everything is working perfectly, kudos on the awesome ROM, I love it :)
 
the version for cm10 is supposed to be for the original jellybean release only, chances are it wont work. its worth a shot though i guess. and as far as it being newer i dont think it is

that would suggest according to the date code that it was made 10-11-2012
where as the one posted on the OP here

was built 04-29-2012
6 months earlier, the difference is i didnt move it, shinru did therefore the date you are seeing is the date he moved the file to his goo.im account, not the date it was originally put out

when there is a release of cm or gapps with a number in it
gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip

that right there is the date it was built based on gmt
 
ah, ok kool. yea generally people will post the gapps to go along with it, and if they dont always make sure you get the one for the right version of android. 4.0 gapps for 4.0 android, 4.1 for 4.1, and so on. 4.2 gapps wont work with anything we have working on this phone, the newest thing we could possibly use is the one posted for cm10, i got the newest available for the older jellybean
 
Just throwing it out there...since I flashed this rom...my battery is absolutely amazing now. It's been off the charger for upwards of 36 hours now, and it's just barely hitting 15%, and that is with calling, playing games, surfing the web, and listening to music...alot lol.

Great Job on the rom :)

after you installed it, did you install apps like Pandora or facebook? if so, those apps tend to annihilate the battery. i just do facebook over the browser, and i have my own music on my sdcard lol.

other than that, the games I've downloaded are pretty graphics intensive, but have very little tasks running at the same time. I also went into the developer options and turned on the auto kill option. it makes it so that after you go back to your home screen from an app, it auto kills that app so it's not running in the background, essentially turning the multitasking off, but I don't ever really do that anyway with my phone. If I need to look something up, I either just use my computer, or I save the game, close it, look up what i need to, then go back to my game.

that app kill option was the main thing that saved my battery, basically if i'm just on my home screen, it's just the base system files running.
