are you sure its not 318 USED with the stock rom? i dont think its possible to have that much free ram on the stock rom

dont unzip it. just put the zip file on your sd card and use cwm to install the zip from the sdcard. theres an option on the main menu for it

do i have to do a factory data reset to apply the update?

no, just clear cache and dalvik cache, then install zip from sd :) It is just an update, not a full rom so if you do a factory reset you will have to re-flash the rom

Any input on the update? Comments appreciated
I was just about to comment. It seems waaaay faster at most things.

Pros: opening apps is super fast. Messaging opens much faster. Screen transitions are smoother.

Cons: I am getting some stuttering in Temple run now for some reason. It even became unplayable at one point.

Thank you for making updates and keeping us all happy. I can't wait to try out the next update :)

Yeah, Im getting the same thing here. Music from the cloud plays with skips, but that was happening on stock too. When i installed a few extra apps, the free memory went to hello. The ram was all used up and the over clocked processor was trying to sort everything out.

I dont know alot about linux or programming, but maby you can make a way to automatically free up memory. But im sure theres an app for that. lol

But love the direction your going with this and thanks for the great work man...

I don't mean to be over critical here.
But when I use the Google search, that's when the lagging starts. Its a cool feature, just lagging up the phone.

That's just my phone though.

there is always the option of creating a swap partition, not gonna go into the whole process of how to do it but basically its like the page file on a windows computer, it takes up some of your sd card and because you will be constantly writing to it will cause its life span to shorten but it will clear out some of the memory, background stuff will be moved to the sd card freeing up the actual ram

Yeah, I actually screwed up. I'm pretty new to this stuff. I didn't set the voltage and SAVE it. Duh... Thanks for the help guys. Its running smooth now. My bad. Carry on...lol

Ok, just installed again. Still, voltage & other apps say I'm not rooted. But, not a big deal at all. Rooted w/ laptop now works amazing! Phone runs great! Awesome job brotha! Theres an update? Guess I gotta try it out, thanks!

I always keep my rom updated and swap is already enabled. I will fine tune the minfree values and remove Google now

I love the new update you put on here, the rom before update had a major lag problem when I installed all my apps back on to the phone using mybackup pro. But its running great and smoothly now, great job buddy and if I run into anything, I'll let you know.

might want to make note tho of the fact that swap wont work without making a swap partition on the sd card. which will make your sd card die faster, and is much more help is you use a higher class card, class 6 or higher is recommended

edit: oh yea and if you try to partition your sd card you will lose all data on it, its more for advanced users so if you attempt it and screw something up thats on you, hence why im not giving specific instructions

OH, wouldnt that degrade the life of the phone though? id rather have it on the sdcard myself, that way if it burns up the memory i can just swap the card and not the whole phone. yea its probably a hell of alot faster than an sd but i dont wanna risk killing the internal memory because i cant replace that my hands arent nearly steady enough lol

maybe you should make that an optional component. throw together a simple apk that can toggle on and off some of the options like that one people may not want or even switch it to the sd card
that way you could employ anything and everything you want and people could tweak it to their liking easily

High ram usage is normal with ICS as it caches all inactive programs in ram. What my minfree value does is keeps the amount of inactive cached apps to a minimum. Allowing more free RAM and aggressively clears unused apps from ram based on priority and need.
