Root Back to froyo

I have a gingerbread droid x. HATE IT. Any way to get back to froyo? Hate the gingerbread, not the x.
you're weird lol

But yes but you have to sbf back to it using the sbf file and rsdlite or the likes. Search this forum and you should find it easy enough ;)

I'm thinking about doing this too. Since the GB update, I don't think I've had my phone go even 2 days without rebooting itself or me having to reboot it because it lost cell connection. Never had those problems on FroYo.

Are you guys sure you aren't getting reboots without knowing it? Some of my reboots are in the middle of the night while it's charging and I'm asleep, or while it's in my locker at work. Only way I know it rebooted is the Uptime counter is all of a sudden just a couple hours, or when I hold the Home button to get into my recently opened apps, and there are only 2 things listed there. I added an Uptime Widget a couple weeks ago, and my logest time between reboots is 1 day 14 hours 1 minute.

pretty positive...for instance...rebooted the phone manually this morning just because i like to do it every few days but i couldn't remember the last time i did so i knew it hadn't been in quite some time...checked my "uptime" it was something like 215 hours...

+1 my phone did not like gingerbread I have been back on froyo and 1.4.1 apex have not had a problem in three week's now.

+1 here too. Hate GB. Hate the look. The blue status bar hides the even smaller than before icons and I can't see anything when it's bright outside. My phone has rebooted 5 times today for no reason.

Going back to Froyo. Don't want to because I prefer to stay OTA, but the fact there's not root for GB makes it a moot point. If I want my wireless tether back, I'll have to install a custom rom either way.

There's "even smaller than before icons" with GB? Jeesh, here I felt the status bars and icons thereof have always been too big.. so I use a LCD density of 190 haha.

If the OTA GB is giving you issues, try doing a fresh install of it rather than the OTA that you received.

This is a fresh install on a brand new phone. I never said my phone was upgraded. It has the stock OTA GB that came with the phone.

in my signature the second link is what you need, it will take you to froyo

from there you can root the phone and flash the rooted gb ota, and begin installing custom roms.
