Alright gang, I've got good news! I've finally figured out how to create apk themes for the theme chooser. Good news is you can switch themes on the fly. Bad news is it doesn't theme some of the elements available in the kitchen. I'm working on refining the process, and how to include elements that the kitchen doesn't support (like wallpaper or ringtones). I'll be reporting on my progress in Cammykool's thread about the theme chooser themes, as well as links to the finished themes (as soon as I consider them out of beta).

Want to get rid of a flashed theme? I made cleantheme last night. It will revert your phone back to no theme at all. Only works for BACKside 0131.

Alright, gang! Here we go with another adventure in Apk themes. This time around, it's INVI. I'm slowly nailing down the bugs I wanted to quash, and this one includes the thumbnail for the TC. I still need to figure out how to get it to display the correct theme title in the TC, and Applications menu, but this is still good progress.

Again, this should be independent of what build is being used. Here's the link.

This time around, it's INVI.

When I try to install these I always get a theme error. "This theme is missing assets for your device's screen size." I have the icons in the status bar and the blue scrollbar and glow for INVI but not the wallpaper showing in the thumbnail.

This is more involved than I thought. I'll get the results I'm looking for, but it may be a bit. I'm learning quite a bit, but family duties take most of my time.

I thought this might come in handy, a theme reverter for those who decide to go back to vanilla BACKside-IHO after flashing a UOT Kitchen theme. It will replace the framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk files that UOT Kitchen replaces. It does not replace the bootanimation, I left that alone since anyone can replace it easily. I tested it out, replacing my GreenMachineTheme with it, and it seems to work fine. All text colors, menu colors, lockscreen icons, popups, glows, borders, etc reverted to default CM7 color schemes. Let me know if you have issues.

Steps to revert to vanilla BACKside-IHO:
1- Download the BACKside-Theme-Reverter-10172011.zip to your sdcard
2- Reboot into recovery
3- Wipe cache and dalvik cache
4- Flash the reverter zip file
5- Reboot to vanilla BACKside-IHO ;)
Have I missed it somewhere along the lines, or is this reverter of Jerry's something that needs updated each build? I'm assuming this will not work correctly on the newest build? Always used green machine myself, but thought I'd check out quicksilver to give myself a bit of theme experience.

To use another theme you only have to wipe cache and dalvik cache. Half the time I don't even do that and haven't had a problem. If you want to go back to no theme I made this, cleantheme0212 , to work with the current build. Same instructions:

Reboot into recovery
Wipe cache and dalvik cache
Flash the zip file
Reboot to vanilla BACKside-IHO

Actually I'm not sure that Jerry's still would not work. All the framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk files have the same date. Maybe he can answer that if he sees this.

@djthebogan, any chance of an update of CoolBlue for the 20120313 build? I'm new to backSIDE and flashed the most recent ROM. I would LOVE your theme if you could provide one for the build.

Dj doesn't have the OV anymore, he's now active in the Wildfire S forums. If you look for my UoT tutorial in the all things root thread, it tells you how to take an older theme and update it yourself.
