Backup Phones

Just curious, how many of you have backup phones and if so what's your primary and backup.

Me, Primary: LG Optimus G, Backup: Sony TL

I have an unlocked Captivate and a new, in box, Exhibit 2. I like the Exhibit better but don't want to open it if I don't have to. I also have a little Nokia I bought as a beach phone. I've been screwing around with my old OV as an "Android Touch" but I don't like carrying two phones.
What I want to do is sell them and go to my S2 and a Note. That's be more of an alternate setup rather than a backup. I could also sell my 4g tablet then.

I've always been very worried ever since i gave my Old Incredible to my friend to use, now that she bricked it basically, and I only have the Galaxy Nexus as my phone, no backup...

I won't be eligible for upgrade until the fall either so we got to keep prayin' :)

Have a nexus 4 for work, and a galaxy note for personal. For my backup I have a rooted an jb cm rom'd HTC desire hd.

Also have a backup for the backup, an HTC magic :-P

Well the cheap price of the Nexus 4 means I'd probably just buy a new one in the event of its demise (or whatever the next, cheap Nexus phone is). However if I was really short on cash, I guess I could dig out my LG Quantum Windows phone and use that for a bit

Main phone is Galaxy Nexus with Google Voice as my main number. So my backup phone is any phone I can get my hands on. Provided it's active (with any carrier), I just add it in the list and it starts ringing.

My primary is the Galaxy Note 2 and secondary is Motorola Razr Droid. Also have two non smart phones that are always charged and have about

I always keep my old phone when I buy a new one, in this case my backup phone is a samsung jet (no smartphone, but still decent screen and camera for when I bought it).

I sometimes use it at the beach for taking pictures, I don't want my real camera to get sand in its lens :o

Primary:
iPhone 5 (yeah, yeah but there's no Stanza on Android and I've tried Aldiko, Mantano, FBReader, Moon, etc but I still like Stanza best)

Backup:
iPhone 4 (missing inside the house somewhere)
Samsung Galaxy Nexus (AT&T)
Sony Xperia Acro HD (AT&T)
Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray (AT&T)
Sony Ericsson Xperia Active (AT&T)
Samsung Nexus S
Samsung Galaxy S 4G
LG Thrive (AT&T)
Samsung u365 (Verizon)

The Galaxy Nexus, Xperia Acro HD, Xperia Ray, Xperia Active, LG Thrive and Samsung u365 are all on active prepaid accounts and are left in the car or office in case we forget our phones at home. All the backups are on Google Voice so they have the same virtual number (one per family member).

Man you have like a plethora of devices to choose from and I wish I had one :p

You probably have a drawer just filled with devices and if your primary breaks you'll just be like, "hmm I wonder which one I should pick today?" :p

I have several backups I can use actually. With the exception of my old Motorola v3 Razr (broken) and my old Nokia 7250i (stolen), I still have all my previous phones, and in combination with my current ones and my sister's old Galaxy Fit which she asked me to store for her, I have:

Nokias: 3310, 5310, 6300 classic, 5610, 5800, N70
Samsung: GT-E2121B, Galaxy SL, Galaxy Fit, Galaxy Tab Plus (can make calls and SMS).

All are unlocked, so I can just swap sims or buy a new one (its easy to do so here a prepaid sim costs $.50, pop it in, buy credits from 7-11 and you're good to go). The Nokia smartphones can also sync to Google, and I have a backup on Outlook and Outlook.com as well, so I won't lose any contacts and can retrieve them whatever happens.

I'm actually looking for a battery for my 3310 coz its getting old. I sort of believe that it will out-survive all my other phones. LOL.

Shoebox, actually. :p The device choice is actually fairly easy. It's basically just between the Xperia Acro S or the Xperia Active. Both are water resistant, it's just a matter of whether I want something nice or something rugged. Before I got the Acro S, it was either the Xperia Ray or the Xperia Active. :p

I was trying to wean myself from iOS (well, Stanza basically) which is the reason I've got a ton of Androids. I'm actually glad I discovered the Xperia phones as I really don't like my Samsungs. I find the colors on the Samsung phones to be unnatural and over-saturated, not to mention the display looks grainy despite the high resolution (not so bad with pictures and videos but highly irritating if your primary use is reading). The Xperia Ray was the first Android phone I really liked.

Ah, the venerable 3310. I still have very fond memories of mine (it was my Globe phone while the Sony Ericsson T68i was my Smart phone). Alas, it got stolen from my dorm room (it was charging and my roommate didn't lock the door). Most annoying was the screen was just replaced 3 months before (dropped it from 8' height) and I just reloaded the thing with a PhP500 card.

I change phones pretty often so when I get a new one I usually sell the Android device I'm upgrading to help cover the cost of the new one (makes it a lot easier to get the wife's approval that way).

I have a Nexus 4 now, my wife has a Nexus 4, and my daughter has a Galaxy S3. If any of us need it I have a Blackberry Curve for a backup.

^ have you heard of time value of money?

Xperia U as main phone, HTC WFS as Primary backup. Also Nokia smartphone(Symbian) and 6300 as extra backups. Maybe to be joined by a Nexus 4 if/when UK availability improves.

I have my Optimus V as backup. Oh! If I were REALLY REALLY desperate, I could use the p.o.s. HTC Wildfire S... It used to be my other half's phone, but the internal memory (or lack thereof) rendered it useless shortly after purchase. Just long enough I couldn't return it!

i still have my og evo (evo 4g) and right now i use it mainly as a mp3 player more then anything else.

edit:forgot to mention that my main phone is the evo 4g lte.

My 'daily driver' is a Galaxy S2, with an HTC Desire Z as backup/holiday phone (can't beat a proper keyboard for email!) and an HTC Hero for the great outdoors. Then there's my Motorola Razr V3 or Sony Z5 for when I'm feeling retro... :)

Backup is Motorola XPRT

EMERGENCY backup is Blackberry Curve 3G (9330)

Both physical keyboard bar phones. I have moved on, but damn was it nice to have that physical keyboard sometimes.
