Root bamf/sense 3.0

Ohhhhh SWEET! Your right , my test video is there too. Thats great, I don't mind if it force closes as long as I can still record a video if I decided too ( I rarely do but take pictures often)

My bigger problem at the moment remains that my incoming text messages are an hour off so they don't fall in the correct order in the time line. Very confusing. Anybody else notice this or know how to fix it I would be very thankful to hear it. :D

Other than that this rom is amzing! I am a huge Sense fan and specifically chose the T-Bolt for the Sense. This is a Sense dream come true <3

EDIT: Easy fix, download SMS Time Fix from the market and set it to use the phones current time. Easy fix I saw in BAMF thread after doing a Google search. There are a few other apps by different authors but this is the one I grabbed and it works like a charm.

Sweet, glad you found a work around as well.

The only other gripe I have is with the USB mounting. I transfer files too often to have this broken. But this problem existed in BAMF 2.0 B5 as well.

I haven't even been able to mount the SD card in recovery like some people have said. The several times I've had files too large for Dropbox, I have had to use a memory card reader which means I have to take my case off, take off the battery door, remove the battery, eject the SD card, find my micro-standard SD adapter...what a PITA!

I transfered a bunch of stuff last night using Disk Drive. I just switched between Internet Pass Through to Disk Drive back and forth a few times and then my G drive popped up. I have only done it once so I don't know if it will be a problem every time but it worked last night.

My experience has been that within a restart period, I only have to do the internet pass through step once. Meaning as long as I don't restart the phone, the next time i connect, i can go straight to disk drive without the internet pass through nonsense.

So, once I restart the phone, I select Internet Passthrough, let it connect (look for the arrows in the status bar), then pull the drop down, select "select to change the connection type", and select disk drive. Subsequent sessions, plug in and just go straight to disk drive.

Maybe this is useful, maybe not...

Thanks for posting this. I had tried connecting with USB debugging on and off (the T-Bolt has only let me connect with it off in the past), internet sharing hit okay, then go back and select disk drive, and nothing. I had never tried doing it more than once at a time but I got it to work after the second try. Either way...I'm glad to have it working!

the disk drive prollem is common with all GB leak based roms. heres what i do:

-when the screen with charge/disk/etc. comes up i touch internet pass thru and then touch ok.
-youll get a "connection troubleshooting" box. touch ok
-give it a few seconds. i usually hear the "you just plugged somethin in" noise on my pc
-pull down the pull down tab and touch internet pass thru to get back to the charge/disc/etc/ screen
-now touch disc drive and done
-in a few secongs, the emmc drive will open, then the windows explorer auto play box will open. i click "open to view files"

and that works for me,every single time. :)

Just so you guys know preview 4 is up.

adrynalyne said:
Like the other previews, there is no support. These are neither alpha, nor beta. They may be daily drivers, or they may be the last nail in your coffin. We aren't half assing this port, so its taking much, much longer than other Sense 3 ports. Please do not mirror!!!

PR4
------
Many more fixes from erishasnobattery
New skins (check out Burgundy!).
Proper scenes previews, but still not sized right.
Fixed mail account selection
All new Sense 3 wallpapers
There are actual widgets shown by default on a clean install :D
Wipe is recommended this time.

Warning: Don't use scenes from HTC Hub!

Okay funny thing. Last night/this morning when testing my camcorder it forced closed when I pressed the button to stop recording. I checked in the gallery and it didn't show the video I just took (which I was expecting).

So I backed up, put the sense 2.1 camera on there and same thing but the camera was very laggy. So I reverted to my backup to get the 3.0 camera back. But when I went into gallery there was the test video from 3am and the video from the sense 2.1 camera were both in there.

So in short, yes the camera FC's when stopping video recording, the video doesn't instantly show up in the gallery, but it still records and saves successfully. I just tested it again and it still FC'd on me but I went into Astro and my video was instantly available.

Sweet. That's good enough for me...for now anyway.

Have u tried SDrescan?

Might be an easier fix?

Flashing P4 now. My impressions of P3 were it was very very cool, kinda choppy at times on the home screen and opening messaging ect. Slacker was shut down several times for no apparent reason.

I wiped battery stats and let it run all the way down until it shut off today, which I never do, and upon powering back up I kept getting sense force closes. Tried rebooting again but they persisted. Finally I had to boot to recovery and wipe dalvik and then it rebooted fine. It has been on the charger for about 2.5 hours now and it just hit 40%. :(

Hopefully some of these things will be fine tuned in P4. Overall, I LOVED IT :D

Try rebooting your phone while its charging. It fixed the issue for me.

Well camcorder still works the same, but my dolphin browser doesn't FC when going to the Google website now. Just finally got everything set up and don't really see any big changes in terms of performance. Ran smooth in pr3...and it's running fine in pr4.

See, maybe I didnt wipe well enough  Because PR3 was kinda choppy for me but PR4 is buttery smooth. Weird. Was there a kernel change from PR3 to PR4?

BTW: I dig the new avatar man!

I saw several comments about how much better pr4 was but I was loving pr3 so I'm not sure what the deal is. I'm OC'd to 1.4 just like I settled with on pr3 and both were smooth.

I wiped data/cache, as well as the dalvik cache but that's all I did...nothing special.

Thanks. I have been running that wallpaper on my phone and tablet for a week or so and I thought...that would make a good lookin avatar. Plus I'm bald (since my early 20s) so it kinda works for me :D

Edit: I just wish that I could afford a pair of 1911's like those. Glock is a good compromise I suppose but still.

Maybe thats why. I have yet to overclock my Bolt so far. Just stock this thing absolutely screams compared to my iPhone4 so I haven't seen the need but that probably would have helped with PR3.

Yeah I like the bolt around 1.4 or 1.5GHz myself. Not really needed...but everything is just a little smoother.

All you need is SetCPU if you want to play with the OC cause the kernel in this ROM goes up to 1.92GHz.

Edit: not all phones can do 1.9...mine can't. I can run 1.8 Max.

I'm going to try pr4. Pr3 didn't work very well on my phone it was choppy for me also and I run at 1.2.

BTW,Glock only a good COMPROMISE? I like kimber also and have a Solo as a backup which I had to purchase :(. Both are nice.

Well I suppose I'm a little biased having used one professionally for ten years lol. :)

Let me know if it's smoother with pr4. The OC I had on might have made the difference.

Yeah I consider the glock a compromise. It's priced low based on the "it will fire every single fricken time" performance it gives you. But its just not sexy :). I am more accurate with my G19 than any other sidearm so it has a special place in my heart.

1911 is a poor choice for a number of reasons (8 round mag is the biggest) but God I love the look and feel of them! But you're pushing a grand for a decent one.

Well my gloc 22 is standard issue and has only jammed a couple of times in timed target practice. But really accuracy and reliability are the most important things for me.
I bouht my kimber from a friend and fellow coworker. Its certainly prettier and has yet to fail me but I haven't put nearly as many rounds through it.

But back on topic lol I will flash pr4 later tonight. :)

dont even need SetCPU. the kernel has speed tweak built in. Just open terminal emulator type "su" then hit enter, type "speedtweak.sh" hit enter and follow instructions (basically choosing numbers 1-14). from there you can choose 1ghz, 1.4ghz or 1.9 both regular and extreme and which governor. SetCpu is good if you want something other than 1ghz, 1.4 or 1.9. I finally tried/discovered it and the rom works flawlessly for me except the video bug. Everything is smooth and as fast as sense 2.1.

What video bug? YouTube is the only video I've tried watching (aside from the video I've taken with the camera).

And SETCPU is a must have for me. I like having that level of control.
