Root [BATCH] Froyo 2.2.1 Automator

i already updated to stock 2.2 but am ot rooted could i still try this, also i stll have my custom recovery 1.2.4 gnm

mAndroid is having trouble sending large files. They are all downloading mismatched size, the files are all OK on the server and I have been trying to track down the problem for the last 2 days, for now use awesomazing

The changes that i havent made to the batch are as follows:

You need to move the 2 recovery images out of the \WORKDIR folder and into the same folder as the batch

the LG Updater needs to spawn a new window still, so when the updater finishes, you will have top pull the battery and hold VOL DOWN MENU END to reboot, when you close the LG Updater you will be able to continue the batch

I used a command fastboot reboot recovery, which errors, instead you will need to pull battery and hold VOL DOWN MENU END to reboot into recovery manually, I have a fix for this also

When the drivers go to install and are finished the "press any key to continue" may take a little bit to show

I will make these changes as soon as I can, SUPER busy

Thanks!
So being aware of these changes, will the batch work as is, we just need to do the above steps too? Or would you recommend instead going through all of Trident's steps?
In the second fix above, after the update is complete, do we pull the battery and reboot and THEN close the updater, or do we close the updater and then manually reboot?

Either way will work, as long as you do not let the phone boot up all the way after the update is complete. I was worried that the battery pull had to happen very quick, but last night I had a hard time getting the battery out of the dev phone and had to grab a guitar pick, it was about half way thru booting, and it still worked fine.

Its a good idea until these bugs are worked out to have tridents guide handy while you do it, so if a step fails you can manually run it

Edit:
oh and I think I fixed mAndroid downloads

I had to use the manual method. for some reason this was very buggy on my computer. the LG ultility kept having problems

Now that you mention it, and Im home to read my notes, the LG utility will fail because it wont be able to find that cab file, you can either use the full path or move it to the same dir as the batch. Forgot about that one, Ill fix it soon.

I can't wait to give this a shot - but unfortunately I won't have a chance till tomorrow night some time. I have sooooo many different LG related stuff installed on my desktop from trying to recover my bricked phone.

If I'm going to do a clean install just for the sake of being able to root my phone, what would my best choice be for the OS? I normally use Windows 7 x64, but I will use what ever would be best for the procedure and then I can just install my OS of choice after.

Gah, no time!

Never enough time in a day, I should stop giving out ETAs when Im this busy, sorry folks Ill try and get to it over the weekend barring any AFR bugs

Savoxis, take you time man. You have produced a lot of great work so far. Don't burn yourself out.

I second the "take your time" comment. I dont want to see an awesome dev get burned out. As a community we seem to ask way too much of our developers who do their magic for the good of the community & to improve an otherwise unremarkable phone such as our Ally. :(
