Root Battery Percentage!

So, installing this using CWM will NOT affect that I have 1.2 GHz Voodoo installed in any way, right? I suspect that it won't, but I just want to make sure.

You SHOULD be fine. Its just a theme. Ive never had it override before. But, im not using VooDoo.

SAPS....if you're online, you may can clarify this for Zero_One. I know you're using VooDoo

Correct-o-mundo. The battery icon remains after any all voodoo kernal flashing

Thanks bro. I knew you and had talked about it, but i wasnt sure if you kept the battery zip.

Dude, you have to get Dirrk's 1200LV. I'm not even kidding. This is THE ONE to have. So obviously you get the 1.2Ghz which of course gives you 20% more speed across the board. The voodooEXT4 makes almost everything snappier when navigate the phone. Gallery opens quicker, app drawer, you name it its faster. But also the battery life. 1250mV vs 1300mV might not seem like that much difference. 4% right but no. When I used the 1325mV kernel it seemed 10% worse on battery life overall. That figure seems to be the accurate one. Every 25mV seems [based on my usage] net you 10% on your battery life. Its too early to tell right now but Im expecting 20% better battery life over stock with this kernel.
Given how much you're on yours [GTalk King :p] you'll want this just for the increased battery life. The voodoo and extra speed is like a bonus for you.
In fact, you might even consider the 1GhzLV kernel. That runs at 1225mV which based on my deductions could theoretically net you a 30% battery gain over stock. I like 1200LV to me its the best compromise of power&speed and battery. But that 1000LV since it has the voodoo will be an upgrade over stock for sure.

You will flash the 1200LV now, this is the kernel you're looking for

Hmm. Sounds like you talked me into it. But, firewalls at work are being mean. I'll try at home later :)

Alright, you've convinced me to try it once I get home. But I better get cookies, dangit.

And woo, I claim the 100th Saps-thank.

You won't regret it Moonfire. I promise you this is the best thing to hit our SF's since we got them. Performance and battery boosts are very tangible. I pulled my phone off charger at 730am its now 1130am and Im at 95%. And I've been on this guy quite a bit. [20+ texts, 4 emails, visited the Market, xda app, 2 phone calls 8 minutes total, ran Quadrant a few more times, plenty of Speed Pi again]

So since I'm not too keen on looking through that 101 page post on xda I'll just ask here....is there a zip around to CWM flash back to the old battery icon, in case we want to go back to stock?

Transferred via mount to my "Sideload" folder, used CWM to boot to recovery, chose to install zip from sd, located file, booyah. Instant success.

it looks great, but i get distracted watching the battery percentage fall 1 by 1 when im doing stuff! i got used on motorola for awhile only dropping by 10's so the single percentage drop gets at me. definetly looks great though.

I was getting obsessed watching it drop by 1% too so now I just hide the status/notification bar

Hi all, so you say batt. icon remains after voodoo.... but if I already have Dirrks kernel with voodoo, can I just flash the zip in recovery, or do I have to disable voodoo first, then flash the zip? Thanks in advance for any advice :)

No you're fine. Remember you are not doing update.zip flashes you are doing install from sdcard. No worries in your case

Thanks for the reply. I think I'm starting to understand voodoo, but just so I can kinda put it into my own words....... themes, and mods and stuff can be installed without disabling voodoo and lagfix, but if I wanna change roms, or run an update.zip, I should disable it, so I can nandroid and install, and then re-enable it when I am done and booted up again?

So in dumbed down terms, voodoo in Dirrks kernel is kinda seperate from the kernel itself, by disabling the lagfix, I just have an uv/oc kernel that I can keep flashing roms over like normal with clockwork?
