Root Battery pull and 'lost' apps?

Every time I do a reboot, I go into TB and see that a BUNCH of my apps have been 'disabled'! I just can't understand why it is doing that..

I am sure it didn't help for you to try apps2sd from phone as well as using a2sd.

I don't know what is up though.

i suggest you try to save the important stuff, or pull stuff from an old nand. run the disk check and see what it says.

mayb format the card and partition it iaw the guide, and flash a new rom from jump.

Ok, I did the chkdsk recomended and it found a bunch of "cross-linked"...stuff and it asks me if I want it to convert "lost chains to files? Y/N" should I say Y or N?

edit: yes I still have deck's have not flashed anything yet...I'm slow! (read: CAUTIOUS!)

dustwin: I think you hit it right on,,, it's from using that other apps2sd software that has me screwed...

Let me pm argedion, he might know, he's online..stand by buddy!

Edit: just p.m.'ed him. I asked if he had time to wander over here...he may have to read some history of our posts but we'll see...meanwhile I'll google that cuz that is unfamiliar to me.
No worries....take a deep breath...

You guys are absolutely awesome to put up with this kinda stuff from an old geezer who simply loves to hate technology! I'll hang right here til I can't stay awake any longer! :D

Well, from what I googled, cross linked files are 2 files that are in the same cluster, one is good, one is corrupt. Apparently that's not good and the only way to fix it is delete both files....then i would assume you press "Y" -yes--to fix.
The only problem, if it is one, you may lose what is on your sd card.
Now that info is based on a brief, multi site search.
Perhaps by the time I hit the "post reply" button, argedion might reply.
Wondering if you should first save any pix etc that you want.
OR....put card back in phone, format, partition, nand restore your backup.
Just thinking out loud here.

Edit: no, not format cuz your nand is on your sd card....
Hmmm...thinking still

"If I don't know what to do, stand still"! An old saying I tend to live by....

I'm still awake, so we can wait a little while for argedian to make an appearance!

I might mention that on my terminal display, it states that "Cross link resolved by copying". So might that be saying that it's FIXED?!

Just re-reading what you posted about cross linked files...if it converts lost chains to files then I dont think it will delete anything.
Is your card plugged into computer?
If so, copy your nandroid folder to computer to be safe.
Along with other pix etc.

Hmmmm.....perhaps?
Put card back into phone and boot up.
or is your card always been in phone and you ran from terminal?

Yes it's still in the reader slot...

Let me see if I can do that while terminal is waiting for my answer...if I can I will do that...

Edit: Nope, it won't let me..

ok first I agree with dustwun here. you like several others unfortunately have been a victim of misunderstanding. Apps2SD is very different than a2sd. so really the best thing to do is really start from scratch. If you have a decent TB folder you can restore data but first lets make sure you have all your data where it needs to be and not where it shouldn't be.

As far as the links from the chkdsk just click y and move on. Normally the OS will restore the usuable version I would reformat the disk. Save your files over to hard drive and go into recovery and format the disk. (Erase SDCARD) in the wipe menu. then partition it and start the restoring process. You can go to the market and get a program called app list backup and download and install it will generate a list of all your apps. It can restore all apps from the market. If you have apps that came from other sources make sure to save the apk file.

Oh man, what a hard lesson! You are right I didn't fully understand it - would be nice if the "Manage Applications" function could be disabled with a2sd!

Ok...I'll try to follow your instructions here..

It will take me a while as I tend to work slow(er)!..thanks for your patience! Dale

Edit: Should I defrag or not bother?

defrag after you reset up everything run chkdsk first but just run with the /f option no need to check the free space again.

I don't think you should defrag an sd card.
I would do as argedion suggested....copy card contents to computer, then put back in phone, format, etc, etc

Edit: I see argedion posted, he knows more than I :)
