Don't have a data/data directory.
I have .data/ but no data directory inside that.

Also found a data directory, but that doesn't have a data directory within it either.

I've just found addblock-etc-hosts-signed.zip on my SDcard from the villian setup.
Don't suppose that'll work like in GV if I flash it will it?

Yes it will. But you'll need to download new ones for updates and flash those too. Its the file adfree modifies if you're s-off, but cant as android is running if you are s-on.

But yeah you can sinmply flash the file but it wont be updated until you flash a newer version.

Hosts file is basically a list of ip addresses and domain names that are to be blocked. Its a text file basically.

I don't mind reflashing this zip every time I flash a new rom if it works.
Damn host files - cleaned shed loads of them on virused PCs over the years.
PITA.

I have updated hosts file as an update.zip. Just copy it to the sd card and flash it - don't need adfree. I do it last thing after flashing any new rom.

I'm really impressed with my battery life on redux 1.2 + Manu 1.4 kernel.

Ok I'm at 50% battery and I've only been unplugged 11:30 hours, BUT I have 2:50 screen on time, wifi on the whole time and all my normal syncs set.

That means with similar usage, down to 10% (when it shuts itself off), I would have been running screen on 5:06, total up time 20:07

Of course, e-mail frequency will play a part and its been a bit low today given its sunday, but still I'm impressed.

I'm still impressed with powersave on the standard Redux kernel.
I can hammer the phone and the battery just keeps going.
I've stopped worrying about it lasting the day now because it always seems to manage till the next charge no matter how much I use it.
Overnight when it's asleep it barely even touches battery even with the auto syncing every hour.

Can someone post a Link please for redux. The version you say is best, and also the script file for a2sd. Thanks guys, I think I'm gonna have to try this out.

What apps come with redux? And would it be a good time to flash a custom MTD partition before flashing redux, which alpharev setup would you recommend and would it still fit GV in it if I choose to go back?

You are safe with Alpharev Bravo Sense table for any ASOP ROM anyway.

With some tweaks, you should be able to manage both with Bravo CM7 table.

[Or any other Redux users]

It is isnt it?!

I'm quite interested in trying Redux. There are a few things from CM7 I would like to know if it has first though... if you wouldn't mind helping.

1. Does it have the CM7 flashlight mod (with extra bright option)?
2. Does it have the modded stock music player and browser?
3. 720p? (Not even in CM7 yet)
4. Google Car Home? (Guessing not)
5. Customisable Notification Power Widget Bar
6. Battery %?

I know you can probably download all these mods separately, but I like the fact that they are all built into the ROM in CM7.

That is pretty much identical settings-wise to the CM counterpart. It would have probably been a deal breaker for me (not having it).

I'm not going back to GV for the time being. or in the forseen future. Not because Redux is hugely better than GV (because its not) but it is about as good in different ways and its tiny (even smaller once I get my hands on it) and allows me to do what I could not on GV

enlighten me. im interested

Back to GV 2.2, stock kernel

100% at 7am this morning;

- rebooted 3 times (flashing CirclesMod, eyesonlybob x2 cause I wanted to show off the boot screen to someone ;)
- installed 3 apps OTA
- surfed a few pages
- made a 5min call
- WiFi on since the start
- Facebooked a bit
- looked at RSS feeds
- checked and view emails

5:30pm now and running at 54%
