Best Buy Mobile employee here! Feel free to ask me questions :)

I heard the X comes with EA's Need for Speed game plus a copy of Transformers. Is this true?

On the demo unit the Motorola brought in, I saw neither one of these. But maybe the release unit will?

I'll have to check into this one.

Myself, I would probably do the full retail thing, just because it would be less of a hassle, but if you are looking to save money, that is the best solution. Looks like a solid plan :)

Would it be possible to do all this at a Best Buy? Even the line cancellation? Just curious. ;)

You could add the line and start the new service, but the line cancellation can be done through verizon customer service. I mean, we can do it, but we end up just calling in and handing the phone over to you too. So to me, it's better for you to just call customer service and do it, unless you are returning the phone to us, then we have to do it.

thnx for doing this first of all. Maybe you already said this, but i didn't see it. I know that some best buys match prices for wirefly, is there any way you can tell me if the one in Frederick MD does so, if you cant, can you tell me if yours does or if many of them do thanks!

Our pricematch doesn't cover online only websites like Wirefly, so no. The stores that do that are making a special exception, it seems.

I wouldn't be able to tell you if the MD one, I know mine doesn't and not many do, because it's not in our policy.

Hope that helps!

This may seem like a ******ed question, but where it's at a BB store can one use their BB card and get it interest free if they have to pay full retail?

I believe the promotion is 18 months no interest on purchases 350 and up, so yes. Are you talking about the Best Buy Mastercard or the Store credit card?

Well h*ll...I can't find my card now lol...but I believe its just the store credit card.

lol, well, people like me might notice and give you a thumbs up (but also warn you it voids the warranty =P), but I don't think they will notice or care. I would revert it to stock though, just to make sure the activation process goes smoothly. Do you use Droid Mod? That will make it much easier :)

How many lines do you currently have? If you are starting a family plan, it will be 149.99 for unlimited talk and text for the two of you, plus 60 dollars for the two data plans, so 210.

If you are adding her onto the existing family plan it would be different. Get back to me.

lol lol i originally rooted with droid mod and now use rom manager to flash back and forth... i know there is an option to go back to stock in there, so i may do that if i decide to screw my sis over and UN-ROOT HER lol... but anywho, i currently just have MY line, and wanna add her on... so would it still be 210 or less if it isnt a family plan?? just me and her?? thanks again for your time in advance!! :D

Our store matches Wirefly, pretty much anyone. Actually pretty much our whole area does. I was always told as long as there is physical proof we can turn in we should price match. Why lose a customer over a few dollars?? Unless its going from $200 to $0 then thats a different story.

Just curious but after all the troubles I've had at this store, why would you say "awesome"?

Do you know where u are in their pre-order queue?

i didn't have the problems you had, and i don't really bother with which number i am as i know i'm not one of the early ones since i preordered when they started it up the second time. i'm just going to be patient and wait for their phone call telling me my droid x is ready

Ok... I appreciate all the help you provide. I was with Verizon but unfortunatelly we roamed and got a steep bill that we are still paying...
We (wife and I) are now with Sprint...I tried talking to different reps all over regarding doing an upgrade before it is time...We are only 6 months into the contract. I know Verizon is very flexible at letting you upgrade before it is time.
Is there a workaround this for Sprint as well?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Two lines with unlimited talking are 120 +60 for data +30 for texting=210 for unlimited everything for both lines :) So two seperate lines would be more, the family plan is the best way to go.

I think the reason why we don't do it is the instances we get approached by it, it has been those 200 to 50 dollar margins. I don't think I've ever been asked if we can match a price that is less than 50 dollars, to be honest.

If it was less than 50 dollars, I think that would be okay. I just have never been asked.

can an account manager upgrade a line at best buy or does the primary line holder have to be there? and if so, can i upgrade any line on the plan? and do i need to have the phone with me? sorry if this has been asked already. Thank in advance!!

I wouldn't be able to tell you, there are so many different variables when it comes to customer service, one will let you do something the other won't.

Sprint will give you an annual upgrade for the two year pricing of the phone, so that definitly helps, but if you are 6 months in, I would just stick it out for another 6, you never know what will be out then :)

I didn't see a Droid X question in there =P

Account manager = Authorized user? I'm only familiar with the latter term, but it seems like it would be the same thing.

You can upgrade any line on the account, you don't have to have the phone there with you, but if you do upgrade it we do have to activate the new one in store, so the old phone won't be active.

Just a heads up in case the person who is using the old phone needs it for...you know, calls ;)

haha.. thanks!! if i do have the old phone with me.. after i get the upgrade can you transfer the X to my line and then re-activate the other phone?

Me personally? No, I probably can't, due to me being at a different store. I'm sure the Best Buy Mobile guy at your store can do it though.

;)
