Best DUAL SIM android phone?

It would be insane to pay 250 EUR for that phone - you can get Huawei U8836D for less that that, and will get a far better phone by a quality brand...

BTW I had that phone. Bought if for about 150$ when it came out, it worked fine for about one week, then the microphone stopped working...

I'm always suspicious of Taobao, there's a lot of counterfeits* on there. And counterfeit ZTE phones definately do exist. This phone seems to have China Unicom branding on it, would it be locked to that carrier? And probably loaded up with Unicom specific apps, that possibly can't be removed without rooting or changing the ROM completely.

Myself, I use China Mobile.

* Never buy Levi 501 jeans from Taobao. :D

And maybe also descibe a little more about what went wrong. Did you spill coffee on it, or did you try to flash new software... :D

Hi, nothing like this, I took the phone out of the box, powered on and phone stayed in loop at booting animation. I hope, that it will be only SW problem (factory and recovery mode is working), so I am waiting for some ROM to flash. Huawei did not release the official firmware yet. I subscribed already the thread and waiting impatiently :-).

I receive Newman N1 today from newandroidsale.com. 200 $ and free shipping to Denmark :-). First impression is very good. My ZTE U960 is not even close to N1. It's seem to be very faster than U960 and it's more handy. I get back with more information in this weekend.

How would you say the GPS performs? How many satellites is used and how fast do you get a lock on a cold start?

What version of the firmware are you on (1.0.7?)
 
I have a question about some of these Chinese dual sim phones. I was wondering, which one's have the best software for managing the SIM cards.
 
I download GPS Status from Play butik. When i turn on the N1 and start GPS Status it find 4 satelite in about 1 minut.
Android 4.0.4, Baseband Version N1B01, Kernel version 3.0.13, Build number N1V1.0.5, Custom build version 20120815.194132
Another thing: The WIFI is much more stabile than U960. When i put my to simm in the N1 i should not do any thing about management. Data and everything worked.

But i have one problem. It seems that the Newman N1 is not rooted. So i can't get rid of all the chinese apps on the phone. Any idea???
 
Can any any tell about which cell phone is better iphone or black berry? i wan to purcahse so whch mobile is remarkable ?

All MediaTek phones have the exact same dual SIM settings. For Qualcomm based dual sim's it varies from phone to phone.

WTF.... This thread is titled "Best DUAL SIM ANDROID phone" and you ask a question about two NOT dual sim and NOT android phones?.. :confused:
 
I also received the Newman N1 here in Belgium (from etotalk, very fast shipping): nice smartphone, nice rom and in french ;-). The phone is very good, good screen, very fast mobile.
Negative points: poor camera in dark, cannot install some belgian applications (grrr chinese phone)
 
UPDATE about Newman N1. There is a problem with my N1. When I install apps it install them at the internal memory. It can't install at the SD card. Some others have this problem ane some don't have any problems. I think it's the rom there is the problem. My is version 1.05 and my N1 is not rooted. So I an waiting for at custom rom.

Thats is my only problem (is a big problem). But beside of that I am very happy for my Newman N1.

Just ask if anyone have questions.
