Accessories Best Incredible [Full] Screen Protector

i'm going to go pick up a case and protectors today from VZW.
If it's as bad as yall say then I'll just get the Steinheil whenever they're available.

After spending the past week on these forums I've read quite a bit of opinions about protectors. So far I'm pretty convinced not to get the Zagg due to the 'orange peel' look and the stickiness. The only problem is BB has the Zaggs in stock as their only option so it is pretty tempting. Not sure if I should wait for another or go ahead and grab one.. I'm pretty careful with my stuff though so maybe I'll wait. bah, I don't know.

After reading everything on here I'm just going to wait for the Crystal one.

It's a glass screen and should be fine (as long as you don't put it in a pocket with keys and change).... so the screen protector is mostly just being on the safe side.

I think it can manage to last a week.

I'd say 90% of all phone skins have the orange peel.. The only one's that I have seen that to not are the cheapy plastic ones. It is completely unnoticeable when you are using your phone.

Stupid question... Does it hurt the screen to keep changing screen protectors? Is it possible to mess something up with the touch sensitivity?

LOL you are correct it WAS a stupid question. Kidding, of course it won't hurt it to change screen protectors.

I think most will kick themselves for spending money on protectors, but I mean if you want that piece of mind, I'm not going to blame you.... its your phone so do what you want. I just got my incredible and WOW!!!! good luck everyone with yours. Its the same screen and everything as the incredible.

take a piece of sand and try the test again, the screen can be scratch by sand, small dense stuff like that

Man, I was hoping the dude ended ups scratching the hell out of the screen, I would've gotten a good kick out of that. "As you can see, there are....awww some of a b****" :D

Hehe, jk. I'm glad that the phone holds up so well. I'll still get a protector once I get the phone, but at least I can manage during the week or so it'll take for me to receive it.

Has anyone encountered other issues such as dust collecting underneath the screen?

not taking chances with scratches, I waited too darn long for Verizon to finally release the Incredible after waiting what seemed like an eternity for the Nexus One which we know never materialized.
I'll pass on my review of whichever screen cover I get later today.

IS SGP the only protector that has an anti-fingerprint option?

They are the only ones I have seen with AF, and that is why I am waiting on theirs.
I am using a VZW until SGP steps up and starts shipping.

Can that spray solution that comes with the Zagg shield seep under the screen?

Not sure if it can get under the screen but it can get into the earpiece. That is why it needs to sit after you apply it so it has time to dry. It's not so much water getting into a phone that damages it as it is the water causing it to short out while it's on. If you were to get water in your phone while it is off with no charge and give it enough time to dry out it will function normally, most of the time.

I am taking a risk on an unknown (to me) product that I found on Amazon:
Amazon.com: Skinomi TechSkin - Invisible Screen Protector Shield for HTC Droid Incredible + LIFETIME REPLACEMENTS: Cell Phones & Service

Covers the whole screen and says it is "clear".

Already ordered it but does anyone have thoughts on this manufacturer?

Glenn

Hmm.. All their other protectors on Amazon have excellent reviews (4-5 stars). Perhaps I'll give this brand a shot if Clarivue or SGP don't release theirs soon.

Please let us know what you think when it comes. Thanks!

Why is everyone so worried about a screen protector. It's glass. It doesn't scratch.

Quartz (aka SiO2, aka sand), Tungsten Carbide, and diamonds are all harder than glass and will scratch it easily. I have dropped my phone several times face down on the ground, and any street or sidewalk has plenty of sand in it or on it.

FYI sand is the most common mineral in the Earth's crust. That's a good reason for me to protect my phone's screen. I am also thankful that this screen/phone is not a dust trap like my Storm 1. What a dirt magnet that thing is.

I WOULD LIKE TO SEE HIM TRY WITH A DIAMOND. that WILL scratch the screen. the side of a cut diamond can cut anything.

I got my incredible from bestbuy, and I got a great deal on the zagg protector, so i picked that up. First impressions: mine is not a 100% perfect fit, it goes slightly over the edge on 2 spots which is annoying. It can also get pretty smudgy, and I don't particularly like the feel...the touchscreen feels much better stock (without any protector). I will probably try a different protector when they come out.

bought the same one, we'll see how well it works.

It seems like the screen protector of choice for the moto droid. I got one myself to see how it is, but I'm a bit wary of the whole spray and stick process. "get25" coupon code to order on their site for 25% off and free shipping. Cheaper than amazon depending on if you pay sales tax.

+1. These screen are scratch resistant, NOT SCRATCH PROOF. Big difference.

You can go naked and be fine for the most part. Then one day you'll take your phone out of your pocket and see a big damn scratch, right in the middle of the screen and you'll be pissed. I know, I've been there.

And every new phone that comes out, they show some dude in the same video doing the same thing and it doesn't scratch. Well, it will scratch eventually. They all do. Inc is no different.
