Root Best Performing ROM

Apex
AOSP Liberty
maybe Liberty v.8
CM7 drained my battery, but others have experienced better battery life

only way for you to know, is to try them yourself :)

Each phone honestly handles each ROM differently. Some will have great battery life on one ROM while others get poor battery life.

CM7 is better now (cell idle/standby) is much much much better. I still only get about 12 hrs out of CM7. Just flashed back to my Liberty .8 Nandroid and it has given me great battery life consistantly (usually around 19 - 20 hrs). Depends on your phone and also if you are overclocking/undervolting. I was getting crappy battery life until I actually bumped up my vsel from 57 @ 1100 mhz to 59 @ 1100 mhz and it is working much better (linpack is higher) and better battery life (processor was working too hard at the lower voltage).

Zombiestomped

Don't be fooled by the name, this was the most stable and fastest ROM I have ever used. On top of that, I had the BEST battery life (we are talking 2 days on the extended battery).

2. Apex

I am on CM7 now, and once that is stable, I will be staying on it. Although battery life is not as good as Zombie (probably because it lacks BLUR's battery profiles/battery saver) it has more benefits.

Amen to zombie

i was the opposite, Apex ran great on my phone for a week but tanked hard. Horrible battery life and CM7 i must be one of the lucky ones......

I'd rate them like this:

1. ApeX

2. CM7 (even though battery is just ok, and a few other things don't work; maybe it will go up the list when it's more stable).

3. Zombiestomped (didn't really do anything special for me)

4. I've heard good things about DarkSlide even though I haven't tried it.

I have incredible battery life with CM7, but I realize it is hit and miss (which is understandable since it is still very much an Alpha release). I easily get 15-18 hours out of my phone and I am really using it - surfing, social apps, phone, games, email ,etc, etc, etc.

APEX has been the best combination of stability and battery life of the ROMs I have tried, but I was probably averaging 12-14 hours a day with the same usage I get 15-18 hours with CM7.

I never tried Zombiestomped.

I'd have to put stock at the top for stability/battery. If you disagree with me, be nice, remember, I'm a mod now and can sit on you. ;) :p

STOCK ?!?!?!?!?!

Ok, I will give you a pass because I do have to agree while I was on the leaked versions on Gingerbread I did not load any roms at that time because stock Gingerbread was better than anything I had ran on Froyo.

I will agree each phone is different. I have never had a problem with an Apex Rom and he is still around a little and has a big following so there is usually good support. CM7 is still being worked out, but has worked great on my phone.

My advice try them if they look good, some you will know right away are not for you others it will take time. Just make backups so you can get back to your best settings at anytime. I have over 50 back-up on my PC at home saved, just incase.

A new ROM is out called "Simply Stunning"...Thats what im currently running (for 30 min) and it seems about the same speed as CM7 maybe a lil bit faster....It has a few bugs just like CM7 too. I like it so far. Def look into it :)

Stock with the v6 supercharger on top works great. Only 10% battery drop in 3 hours. Not even using any overclocking on it.
