Root best way to root now

just got a brand new evo lte, broke the old one. and i looking for the best way to root and get s-off.

you will need to know what hboot you have.

that is your software version but that should work as you should have hboot 1.12.

double check and then follow the guide.

Personally none of the one click root methods have worked for me. I (3 times now) did the htcdev unlock, then flash TWRP via GooManager, nandroid the stock Rom, then flash a custom Rom. I advise against using the Gmail account linked to your phone for the htcdev unlock if you do it this way.

We may not see another S-off solution for a while since the updates are rolling out so fast. I'd suggest going for full S-off as well. Then manually update as needed.
We're always here if there's any questions, so really there isn't a down side. Unlock that thang!
