Root [BETA]Cyanogen!! Landed!!! :) Go get it![Updated 7/12/2011]

nothing that wasnt there this morning. The only files added were to get to CM7.

Update on my issue...
I decided to erase the SD card and it seems to have solved the SD card access issue. Adios to several hundred pictures, but I think I transferred everything worth keeping long ago. Its time for a 100% fresh start, like it or not.

I've seen/fixed that same problem on another person's never rooted/rom'd stock Droid X... sometimes it just happens and sorta corrupts itself...

i have had that happen to my sd card 2 times now. its such a pain in the ass, but at least now i back up my sd card...

Well, it was fun while it lasted. After finally flashing #5 my screen was locked in the landscape mode even with auto rotate enabled. Kinda reminds me of the time I downloaded a leaked version of Starwars and there was this digital clock running in the corner waiting on film edits. Im back at... Froyo, lol. And unrooted at that. Ive redone my desktop so many times ive grown bored with it and need to find some creativity while I wait for CM7s offical debut.

*** Camera, Youtube and Netflix Fix Found ***

Edit: the post doesn't mention it but this also fixes youtube and netflix.

Ok.. I found a temporary solution for the camera fix:

The camera (not camcorder) works if you use "libLCML.so" and "libbridge.so" from the Moto (.596) release instead of building from source. Just push the two files mentioned to the /system/lib folder from your handy backup of the .596 system, reboot, and voila ... working camera (not camcorder, sadly). In case you don't have a backup of those files I've included the 2 files in a zip.

How I did it.

* Extract files from enclosed .zip onto SD card (libLCML.so and libbridge.so)
* navigate to /system/lib and rename those files to libLCML.so.bak and libbridge.so.bak
* Copy/Paste your extracted files to the /system/lib directy.
* Reboot

Voila!! Working camera!

Hope this helps for now. Remember, if you flash a new nightly, though, and camera is not fixed in that nightly, you'll have to re-do this process to get your camera to work.

Mine did the same. All you had to do was navigate to settings, cyanogenmod settings, display, and check the 0 degree rotation option.

That is awesome. Thanks a lot for posting it man.

EDIT: I can't mount my file as R/W for some reason. And without mounting it, I can't rename the original...can I just replace it? It's not like I need the old ones, right?

Camera Fix FOUND!

Taken from THIS post on the cyanogenmod forums

To confirm this not only fixes the Camera, this also fixes Netflix and YouTube!!!

So in my eyes there are only two major issues and one minor issue to fix.
1-Camcorder
2-Network Locations

Minor-Battery Reporting, personally my battery life has been good, it just seems to be reporting incorrectly.

If the mods feel this should not be a thread please feel free to remove it. However since these have been huge issue for many with CM7 I wanted to make sure it could be seen and not buried in the CM7 Rom thread.

Do this will not only fix the Camera, but it will also get Netflix and Youtube working as well.

This still does not fix the Camcorder issue however.

just boot your gf os into bootstrap recovery
wipe data and cache
install the new GF OS

and she runs like new again ^_^

sorry i had to do it :p

I booted into bootstrap, wiped and loaded GF RC2
It seems a lot more stable and the bugs seemed pretty worked out
Stable build is supposed to drop on wednesday with new features similar to CM7

Also, I heard Camera and GPS is working with some sorta fix. If this is true, someone point me in the direction of the newest build and said patch please =]

it's in the op.

I can confirm it works. Just read the directions (ie you don't flash the zip file) and reboot after. Works great.

I put the link into the CM7 OP. So, I'm going to merge it. If anyone disagrees please feel free to let me know. I want to help, here.

Flashing the .zip for this through CWM
Camera works, camera button on top of device does not work, you can, however, choose to use the search button in advanced settings.
Video camera still not working
previously recorded videos will play, but sound is more like listening to cicadas
This is getting really close to a full product, well done developers!

Anyone else showing maps using 96% of the battery?

The battery life itself is fine (great actually; 9 hours @ 70%), but it shows maps @ 96%.

CEll standby went all the way down to 2%.
