Root [BETA]Cyanogen!! Landed!!! :) Go get it![Updated 7/12/2011]

No, it should just be done before you boot for the first time - that is, do it in the same Clockwork Recovery session that you flash the build.

oops. yeah i should've been more clear. i meant once you're in CWM Recovery, does it make a difference if you wipe it before or after the flash of the nightly
didn't think it matters was just curious.

Guessing my phone did not like the CM ROM. I flashed Apex last night, restored all my apps and data with TB, and went to bed with 40% battery left. Woke up this morning with 40% battery left and managed to go almost 12 hours on the 40% charge while streaming Google Music for 3 of those hours. Again, not a knock on this ROM, but my phone did not like it I guess. I hope the few underlying issues can get fixed soon as I really did enjoy the speed and smoothness of CM. I do love the battery life and Blur camera on Apex right now.

Who wants to build an app that will flash a different ROM every night? Apex one night, Liberty another, CM on another, and lastly stock Gingerbread. Seriously, all these ROMs are great and it would be awesome to not have to flash them just to have a new look.

Default is wipe dalvik when you flash from ROM Manager so that's what I've been doing. I'm on #20. Will try to leave it alone for a few days now to see if battery life improves. Today its not doing so hot so will let it go for now unless another nightly fixes something for our phones.

Do you guys wipe battery stats? Was thinking to do that tomorrow morning after a full charge.

Thanks.

ok so i have a problem i get the update for cyanogen mod 7.1 and i noticed that it didnt let me get the market i tried to download it and it downloads but then crashes any suggestions please

You have to install gapps. Use ROM manager and download the gapps package, and flash it through Clockwork Recovery.

I usually clear the battery stats right through Recovery in the Advanced settings. If I forget to do it while I'm in recovery I use an app called Battery Calibration.

Thanks guys forgot all about that app. Will clear the stats tomorrow morning after its fully charged.

Cheers.

1 GHz: 765 / 1611

according to my history the two times ive ran SmartBench @ 1.0ghz ive scored

756/1915
720/1809

its interesting that it seems the "games" scores for those running CM7 are lower than stock .596, while the productivity scores hover around the same...wonder if it has something to do with the video drivers...

Just because I'm lazy and don't feel like researching it, Are they close to a not-so Beta version of CM7? I've been too busy to mess with a beta setup. Can't be on travel without a phone....:p

Does anyone know if the 1% battery implementation has been abandoned? I think I was reading somewhere that it was the case.

Depends what you need. Everything is working fine for me. The only thing that is a negative is battery life.

Well, "ABANDONED" in that sense could easily mean the code wasn't working as expected or just got dumped for some reason. It doesn't necessarily mean 1% battery increments are abandoned as a concept. Just that piece of code that was submitted.

Those code submissions on the page are all done on a line-by-line basis. Those aren't merges or rejections or abandonments of concepts, just of individual chunks of code.

If you look a little deeper, you'll see a whole conversation about why it was abandoned with CVPCS saying:

i was unaware of the issue between other batteries. i will resubmit this to use a property instead of a build-time ifdef.
abandoned in favor of a new patch

Well, it seems like the 1% implementation has been abandoned (unless I'm misinterpreting the info, I hope I am :D):

Gerrit Code Review

Last I heard was that cvpcs was working on this still. If/when if comes it will be from him just for the X, just like the final fixes for the camera and camcorder (and HDMI out if that ever comes). I know code was added to the main CM7 tree in build 18 (I think) that will allow the coding the cvpcs needs to get the 1% battery working.
