BGR: GNEX users "Plagued" by reboots

I have stock (not rooted) 4.0.2 and have had it reboot at least 10 times since Christmas. I've also had it freeze in the middle of a phone conversation, hang up, and reboot about 5 times. I'm contemplating doing a factory reset...

0-3 reboots a day with an average of 7 a week. Most during Navigation, usually with web browsing at the same time

Verizon
Stock Rom
No Root
Standard and Extended battery
Very few apps installed

These articles are all saying "Google is aware of the problem" but I don't see it in the bug tracker:
Issues - android - Android - An Open Handset Alliance Project - Google Project Hosting
Did I miss it or something?

N/M I found it:
http://code.google.com/p/android/is... Owner Summary Stars Opened Version&start=600

I know they linked to the mobile Help forum thread, but I thought official bug reports had to go in the Issue Tracker?

It has ~ 7 people mentioning it (and no real acknowledgment from Google staff); the latest comment suggests that 4.0.2 update (GSM) took care of the issue for him...

Like I've said, it might be an error from flashing (either originally or an update) with files not copying correctly from the boot image; giving the illusion that an update "fixed it" while it really just flashed correctly...

I get reboots from time to time when typing a url in the browser, typing a contact name in gmail, or typing in a webpage text box.
It doesn't happen all the time, but it happens enough to be annoying.

The only random reboot I've had was on the day I got it, which was launch day. It happened right after I first powered on the phone. It was either right before or right after the 4.0.2 update. No reboots since then.

Rooted
Stock ROM
4G turned off

Running a stock VZW GNex on v4.0.2. I get a couple reboots an hour listening to Pandora, but outside of that, I've never experienced a reboot.

Since last night, I can't make a call without a reboot.

Same here!

This morning I went to make call, screen goes gray, hear ringing and then a pop sound and reboot.

Tried it like 10 times in a row...figured bad phone so I go relock the phone, i was not rooted and still on stock 4.0.2

As soon as I relocked the phone it fine.

I also had a totally freeze over weekend, when i went to check notifications and had to pull battery this is before unlocked it.

Still trying to decided if i should exchange.

Thanks for the response!
By re-locking you mean the bootloader right?

Edit: Confirmed! Phone works after re-locking the bootloader. Something's fishy at Verizon.

Yep relocking the bootloader.

You think verizon is doing something?

This one has me baffled.

I just unlocked the bootloader again and curious to see what happens again.

I have a stock Nexus on VZW and I have had only 1 reboot since launch. I can't remember if I had light flow installed at the time. I have however uninstalled it due to other reasons.

I've gotten the random reboots more than a handful of times, but I also wouldn't use the word "plagued".

It's happened while fully stock and while rooted stock, with and without lightflow or any of the other suspected culprit apps. It happened twice while entering text to evernote, which IMO, has typically been a well behaved app.

In a nutshell, I can't reproduce it at all, but they are far and few enough, that I'd be okay with a fix down the line (to note, this happened on other Android phones I've owned, too, most recently with the Bionic).

VZW Gnex Stock 4.0.2

Reboots:
Streaming Pandora in the Car while charging = 7
Streaming Pandora in the Car not charging = 1 (Updated)

Accessing the camera from unlock screen while holding horizontally = 3
Accessing the camera from unlock screen while holding vertically = 0

Clicking on a notification from the pull-down bar = 1

Verizon on 4.0.2 Rooted and Unlocked

Stock rom and kernel

Use Nova Launcher, No Reboots.

Sure enough, Two hours after I post this I'm sitting in bed browsing around on my phone and the screen goes black - reboot. First known random reboot I can remember with my Gnex since release day.

Damn that Murphy and her silly laws...!

I got about 4 reboots the first two days I had it doing random things. I hadn't noticed it that it rebooted since. But oddly enough i was reading this thread and had the phone on my desk in front of me, and noticed it was doing the boot animation. So it just randomly rebooted while sitting idle. This is Verizon, 4.0.2 stock.

I noticed everyone who did say they rebooted was on 4.0.2

anyone on 4.0.3 and still gets reboots?

I am thinking of upgrading to one of these custom roms with 4.0.3 and maybe leaked radio.

GSM 4.0.1 and now 4.0.2. Stock.

Only reboots I've had were down to apps that had not been updated for ICS (I'm looking at you, Kindle).
Regular Navigation user.
