Root Big things happening?!?

Yeah but you need to do it again to see if the boot loader is rolled back. If not as soon as its patched everyone that hasn't done the hack (if we ever get one) will be left out.

Never mind though I see OMJ has already done it and confirmed it doesn't.:(

sucks...but like someone said @wadeivy does have a way

Big things are coming. There's all this talk, hype, etc., but all I ever see is updated leaked buggy Froyo releases and half ass vanilla "ROMs".

Kind of getting impatient here.

As of now, my plan is to sell my Droid X as soon as the G2 gets an official release date and move to that phone. I think a lot more dev stuff will happen there...

I don't know what to say about that except have fun

looking for baseband radio nvram dumps from droid-2. trying to find what bits to tickle in the nvram to give us engineering mode...

replacing every byte but the ESN and "seem names" (radiocomm) with 0xFF does get us engineering mode...

nenolod
the question we are trying to solve is why is this working, so that a proper exploit can be cooked up.

hmmmm :)

here is what we have right now: it is confirmed that tickling the baseband nvram yields engineering mode on droid-x/droid-2. now to find why

The longer this bootloader thing takes the more skeptical I am becoming.

I agree, it's nice knowing that there has been some progress, but I would almost rather be surprised when it does finally come out than check twitter and this site every 2 min.

I'm guessing P3 is talking about his ROM, as far as I know he isn't working with birdman on the bootloader exploit.

Tbh, which includes birdman and others

So guess I was wrong, I hope good things do come on Friday.

I really don't like these teaser tweets, they usually end up with a lot of people being disappointed.

I agree with that. Everyone seems to say something big is coming then its a small update or a small hack. Something big would be a source built rom thats ready for distribution, an unlocked bootloader, or something to that effect.

So guess I was wrong in assuming that Birdman is not working in P3. I hope good things do come on Friday and I hope success to TBH
