I'm really itching to get this battery. My only 2 concerns are with the rugged case and possible loss of reception. I need my signal bars darn it.

I currently have a ballastic hard core case and it feels like a tank protecting my phone. I need that protection. I tend to drop my phone more than I like to admit. Does this case feel like it could provide drop protection? Also, has anyone experienced reception issues? Thanks.

I haven't had any issues with reception with both 3g or wifi.
I read that someone was having issues with wifi I think it was, but I'm sitting looking at full bars. The person mentioned you needed to be away a bit, well of coarse it's gonna be an issue, anything in the way is gonna be an issue at that point, so I highly doubt the battery would be the hindrance. Also don't forget, signal and speed are all relative, it really depends on who your connected to, how the weather is, stuff in the way that might cause issues, IE florescent lights can cause interference, but it really is relative........in a perfect world and in a perfect situation, yeah everything may be fine, but to see bars and say "OMG I lost 2 bars!" and freak out, is kinda funny yet sad in a way......the bars are only an estimation, it's not an exact science, just like a download of a file in windows says it's this time or that time until it's done....it's an "estimation" not exact.
Those little bars just tell you the varied strength, and have no relation to your d/l speeds or your speed in general. believe what you want but I know for a fact I have had 3 bars and downloaded JUST as fast as if I had 5-6 bars. Fact is there are WAY to many variables and things that can affect stuff, so that's exactly why it's not an exact science, because if it were, then I could essentially say a phone that shows 8-10 bars for it's max gets a better signal than a phone that only shows 5-6 bars max.....and you can change those bars.
So if you wanna believe the signal myth, go ahead, but I'm speaking from my experience, it's relative. People don't really grasp the concept of how things tend to work, and do some research before they end up posting. here's a prime example, load a web page 2-3 times, after the first time it will seem to laod faster....does that mean your magically getting faster speeds? no, it means it's cached in the browser and simply takes less time to load a big chunk of the pages items....yet people think they are some how getting really fast speeds because they loaded the page WAY faster. That along with the fact, lets say if you have the FASTEST internet in the entire world......well a fat load of good that does you when you connect to me, the slowest speed in the world, because you mr fast, are going to connect to MY speeds, not yours. Ok off my soap box now, sorry heh.
As for the case....yeah it'll protect it from "normal drops"...there is NO case that can protect a phone 100% safe at "ALL" times, simply because if it lands in just the right spot, well guess what, case or no case, it's going to break, it's just a fact and the law of physics, so while some cases may make you feel safer that's fine....some protect better than others, but I've seen test after test of videos that have cases and they have broken the phone.....I've also seen in real life and in videos a phone with NO case and miraculously survived a fall that SHOULD have utterly shattered the screen. So it's a chance thing.
This case seems a bit thin to me, but I'm going with it because while it seems a bit thing, it's also seems thick enough to protect the phone.
ANY case is better than no case I'm sure, the odds are way better with a case as appose to without.
It also boils down to taste, kinda like the iPhone vs android debate....it's really a matter of "what do you want out of your phone" after all it is "YOUR" phone, not anyone elses
So...food for thought, and take it as you like it, but I personally have not had any issues with data signal nor wifi, everything is exactly the same as it was before, and the case fits snug for me, just not as bone crushing tight as my other case is, but still snug enough it doesn't flop around like some seem to say it is doing for them......I kinda think it depends on who you ask really.....it's all in the eye of the beholder

.
I'm not a nitpicker as bad as some are, but I'm also not one to use junky stuff, so while this may seem crap to some, others say it's fine.
