Root [Boost Mobile] [Dev Only]Quick Panel Port

Android Expert
So hello guys... As you may or may not know I am working on bringing the quick panel to the warp... however I am a newbie to all of this and I am now in need of help... I have decompiled the systemui for our warps and CTmod for the marquee and a the systemui of another unknown rom which I believe may be aosp based... I have modded all of the xml files (I will upload them Tomorrow) and now the only thing left to do is edit the smali files... I will attach a link to the tool that I have used throughout this entire process... it is capable of compiling/decompiling apks into smali code and also recreating the java source...
It also highlights the smali syntax to make it more readable... (the highlighting makes all the difference)... So anyone that wants to aid me in this port can hit up the link... I will create a git tomorrow so you can track any changes I make and update this post...

Simply install the executable in the zip below and it will install the tool which is called Virtuous Studio Ten... the apks I have been using are also in the zip and are labeled accordingly... apkmanager is also included in case you want to decompile manually... the Virtuous Studio needs to be directed to apktool which is found within the /apkmanager/other path... thanks in advance to anyone that wants to help

This would be much easier to port using the initial build of CM7 that is up in this forum. Since it is based off the warp files it will be easier to see the difference in edits. the base smali files should be extremely similar if not exactly the same aside from core cm7 edits like, the notification toggles :)

Just trying to make this easier on you guys

EDIT: I was working on this before, but it was when i first started my rom and it seemed to advanced for me so i gave up. But now that i understand the files a lot more, it shouldn't be to hard for me to port this from the CM7 source. I will restart work on this tonight, I have some of the things already implemented into the smali files on my rom.

The only rom that I've used for an extended period is yours so I have limited rom experience... plus this is my first android so I've also never really seen cm7/cm9... so your basically telling me that cm7 has a quickpanel and is coded similarly to the warp?

There's a bootable port of CM7 based on the warp files, so other then the CM7 edits the files are identical to those on the stock rom. And yes CM7 has the notification (Quick settings) Toggles in the drop down.

Thanks for the info... ill look into it whenever I finally get back on my computer

When you think about it, bloodawns way of porting things are pretty adavnce........ he took lidroids quickpanel tutorial and basically burnt it and created his ow way of porting it to other phones. His way of porting the quickpanel should work for all Motorola ZTE and Samsung devices. Im not entirely sure about HTC phones has its theres phones are modded android systems called "Sense".

To be honest when you think about it in a way its actually pretty easy to port it until you start editing the smali's thats the b*tch part of the enitre port. If you screw that up your whole statusbar will be gone and that either means you either screwed up one of the smalis or you messed up the statusbar.service.xml.
My ROM for the ultra already has a quickpanel just like bloodawns but he choose to switch to lidroids quickpanel and so am i and my co creator of the ROM mavrickmeercat. So im currently porting it right now as well and let me just say i spent like literally 6 hours on this crap just going over and over with it to make sure i didnt miss anything. I wanna get it perfect. I said if i ever got it working on the ultra i'll port it to the Warp as well.

Good luck man, your gonna need it trust me haha.

It seems as though even you were once a nooblet to all of this... that gives me hope

Thanks... I'm an absolute coding noob so I knew it would be difficult from the start... I have no idea what exactly it is that I'm doing... and yeah lol... I thought this was only going to take a few hours because I edited all of the XML files correctly... and then when I looked at the smali I almost cried and gave up... I'm glad that I found the tool that I did though... it makes the smali 1000 times easier to read and I can easily get a side by side comparison with the Java files

Like i said the files are identical, just a matter of re-adding the stock dependencies and declarations back in. :p

the biggest pain in the arse is the access$ numbers because you have to go back and forth through a ton of files finding them. There was i think 10-12 just for the extended power menu.

EDIT: First attempt failed but i know why

1. forgot to change build version in manifest.xml
2. forgot to add theme declaration in manifest.xml

It made me so mad while I was doing it... and then when I thought I was done all I managed to do was bootloop... took me all day to do it and all I had to do was copy and paste from the tutorial...

Grr wish i could help more but im limited with my phone xD

I looked into deving on my phone a few weeks ago and I found a Java compiler... it didn't help me out all that much because it can only build and not decompile or recompile pre built apks

Yeah as i said its limited there no way to decompile and recompile apks if i was an app dev id make one but hey im not i only know how to make ROMs :D

I use Custom Rom Creator, it decompiles and recompiles apks. As well as optomizing the png files.

There are still some errors in the smali files i will have to look at it more tomorrow. probably wrong access$ numbers YAY!!
