Root [Boost Mobile] [GUIDE] Zte Warp swap (for extra RAM )

I was picking on you Marty.. Yes this does do something special. In my opinion its the most needed thing that could be brought to a warp owners attention.. As our phones are really lacking in ram. When your ram is full your phone does 2 things, it either lags or reboots which can be really annoying as we all know. By adding 256mb ram storage to your phone it will be very difficult to make your phone reboot from lack of ram.. Lack of ram is what causes the phone to lag when multitasking or playing big/good games. I would definitely recommend using this guide to make your phone better

I wasn't even aware of you picking on me lol. I didn't think anything of it when my phone rebooted randomly, when it did I would be like -____-

Thanks.

I can only give my warp a extra 256mb? I dont think Warp Cream sandwich supports this I'll just use another kernal. Most likely I'll do this to my phone tomorrow.

Actually you can make it larger than 256... but it would be unnecessary... and wcs is already equipped with downs kernel... I don't remember if it has swap support or not but I can send out an update with a newer version of his kernel if necessary...

Ok, I'll give it 512mb just for the hell of it. I have no clue on how to check I'll leave that up to you.

Hey jetx swapper 2 only goes up to 256 swap. Are you thinking about an SD partition?

If you are, the upside of using this method is it doesn't use your sd as a swap. It's in system memory which makes it faster and no in constant read write to sd

Hey by the way MARTY 256mb is a pretty high number of added ram considering the warp only comes with 512mb of ram :D

If you set swap manually you can make it as large as your data partition will allow.... but 256 is a bIt unnecessary unless youre are a super gamer

Hey Jett....were you able to check if your ROM already support Swap?:D
Right now when i open Swap2 and got to menu..Swap...all i get is a blank small white screen and Please wait...but nothing happens..??

Follow the steps in the op.

I am following the steps in the OP, but i can seem match the steps. First if i hit Menu in swapper2, I dont see "Swap Place". I also dont see were im supposed to edit the file name...I dont see an option to do that. I would love to get this to work and appreciate any help you guys can give. sorry if I sound dumb:(

Go to menu then settings.. go to swap place. It will say sdcard something. ONLY erase sdcard and replace it with data. Follow the steps after that.

Thank you!....going to settings is the part i was missing lol...It doesnt say to go to setting the instructions but i still feel like a dummy :/

Got all the way up to the emulator part, but its coming up with not found. Updated busy boxy to 1.19.4 and emulator still says not found when i type in free....im getting a pretty bad lag when i first reboot too

Busybox isn't installed correctly. The lag is swapper making the swap file. So it is working

I'm using the busy box installer from the link n installing the quoted version. Not sure how I'm installing it incorrectly. Any thoughts ?

Edit : had to use advanced installer all working fine now. running warp cream sandwich. did not change kernel

Can super phone build.prop mess with this? Busybox 1.19.4 is installed to. /system/xbin/ but when I type free into android emulator it says "not found". Unfortunately I did not keep my original build.prop.

i cant stress this enough most of the ROMs have the broken kernel (thats what im calling it :D) so that said MOST of the ROMs have swap support
