I finally have busy box 1.19.4 like the op said have swap per running I.e. swapping file OK,running file OK. Now when I go into terminal and type free still says not found I even tried su then free still free not found

Yes you should . Did you try rebooting your phone into cwm and fixing permissions and trying busybox installer? Let me know and I will find a different way for you to update your busybox..

And unknown be sure to update your busy box as well..

What rom are you running?

For some of you with problems getting the emulator to work, and busybox not being the answer. I don't have an answer for you because I didn't have the issue. But you could check that your file is in the system with an app like root explorer. Just open it and click on data, and you will find a file named swapfile there and it will be the size that you made your swap... That would will confirm that your swap is working since swapper 2 by default removes the file when swap isn't on

He's on noob. He mentioned it earlier in a question

Now that you mention it I'm curious if everyone that's had this problem was on the same rom. Or if certain roms have that problem..

Sorry guys I had to cut my yard but I'm on noob IV from and self I will check that route thanks

I'm not sure how that happened.. :p

And it's only been like 4 days.. I think there was just too many roms out, and alot of new ones coming out. It was hard for anyone to take the spotlight off the big 2 roms at that time just to get there work noticed

Thanks for the tip thats what i had to do iv had busybox issues with this rom for a while and im not sure why but im too stuborn to change it i dont feel the need to ditch a good thing but the swap works awsome i do notice things loading and running faster

That's just part of it. More than speed. You should never ever get a random reboot while using it. It will improve the way your phone acts while doing things simultaneously... I tried oc by itself last night, and couldn't use swap with it.. Oc doesn't compare to it. But I believe when the 2 are put together it will be a huge performance boost

anyone on the patchwork 2 rom try this? i get down to the emulator and i enter free and all it does is give me a list of commands, note i have the glitch kernel flashed, i ran through swapper 2 ok

edit: i believe its working, i did the look in /data/ folder through es file explorer and it's there, size i set it and all

That means it's working.. I'm not sure why some of you are having the issues with the emulator.. But if the file is there than it is on and working

I had issues getting the Terminal Emulator command working myself. I'd type in "Free" and get an "unknown command", response. After failing to reinstall Busybox 1.19.4 after numerous attempts, i opted to try Busybox 1.19.3 and it installed without a flaw. I rebooted, tried the Terminal command again and found it operational. It read out my RAM and I happily looked down at a Swap reading of 262140. Hopefully this might solve some of your issues!

Note: I'm running n00b IV

Verified using root explorer in data folder i have swap, updated busy box but can't get emulator to work either when typing free command in. Running wcs.

I'm not sure what to tell you man. Seems to be a pattern with wcs having problems with the emulator. .
Did you upgrade to the version of busybox I talked about in the op? And did you install to xbin

I'm thinking so. It just seems to be the connection between everyone I remember having this problem. .but you don't really need the emulator to tell you it's working. .the swap file being there in data means swap is working. By default when swapper2 is off it deletes the file
