Root [Boost Mobile] [Kernel] Glitch Kernel (2.6.35.7) OC. 1.8ghz

I don't really follow. Linux? It's a standard OS feature of the >3.0 android kernel to add generic USB accessory support but I know it can be added to older versions with limited OS support(apps are needed to control it's functions). I understand the android kernel is a modified linux kernel but this wouldn't really be needed in linux, it already has USB support.

Linux kernel versions follow the same line as android, mind you they are two different branches, but the same base. Soon to be one again says Linus ;)
Edit, just read up on it, I'm totally in for trying to backport it. I don't know if the is will see it, but I would at least think with a reboot it could mount it as another block device

That's awesome, I hope you can get it working. StickMount does a really good job with flash drives but it's 4.0+, I'm trying to use it to control my camera. I love that feature on my tablet but my phone is much more portable.

It makes sense to merge them, I have a feeling android is going to play a big part in the future of linux.

Edit:Looking at the page for the app I use it says "USB host support", I think that's part of the OTG system but I'm not sure.

Here's the thing, otg has been enable in my kernel since the start. There might be additional protocols that it needs.
I need to get one of these cables to test it all out, but just even being able to use it to transfer files from USB would be awesome. There seems to be quite a few apps on USB host controllers

Oh.. Maybe we're missing some kernel modules or lib's then? Idk really, I've built plenty of Linux kernels but know nothing about Android.

I got my OTG cable on amazon for like $2

Have you tried "USB host controller" from gplay?
Try with a flash drive and let me know if it reports s3c host driver not found. I'm gonna continue my research
Edit
Also are you using a powered hub? The warp will not power an external device through the USB. It doesn't have the ability to back feed voltages.

I'm at work so I don't have access to my cable or a flash drive. I'll check it out in the morning.

Not sure if ya caught it but I added to my post above.
I'll be putting up a new more stable beta tonight, check post 3!

With a flash drive I do but with my camera I don't need one since it is already powered. Anyways, I'll check out the new kernel and play around with things in the morning. I'll get back to you in PM so this thread doesn't get so cluttered if that's okay with you.

That's fine. I would like further development of this to be open forum.
I like the concept, and I have a cable on the way.
:D

Post 4 update!
Come get your latest beta, with hidden advanced features!

POST 4 is now beta test area!

Edit
just realized that i never released V1.3 lol
well consider it done and gone, it was in noob and ctmod, so consider it an Rom only version, HA!

New test build tonight with addition org features so anyone that has these things on hand, test it. Will edit post 4 with the beta
PattF here is another beta you can try with everything for android OTG enabled.

Is this the entire kernel or or just a patch. If it is a kernel what are the goodies. Im currently running th zram test kernel, and have no issues.

trying release candidate now, very exciting!

EDIT: so far no issues using zRAM etc. I will do some harder testing later today with more apps etc to see how it goes, wifi is good to go.

Flashlight app wouldn't work after flashed dtm-zcache_fixed2 on n00b VII.

I tried several times, wiped cache & dalvik, restored flashlight app with TB, etc.

If you use default kernel in n00bVIIUpdate or Alien3.0SuperKernelNOBFS then Flashlight works OK, but I think both kernels doesn't have the zcache fix.

Thanks

Been running the update for a few nd everything is great no lag once so ever and you can tell zcache and zram are monsters lol thank you dtm! Also is Brazilianwax suppose to be a new included govonor in the new test zcache and zram kenerel because i don't see it?

I may have not included it in the test build. I have family stuff to attend to tonight so I'm pushing the fixes for the release candidates out a couple of days

No biggie, I'll look into the bug. Have you tried different cables/headphones?

Sorry for the late response, it's been a long day. It gives me the "s3c host driver not found" error when trying to connect anything.
