Root [Boost Mobile] Let's Start A Team ROM!?

Its summer vacation for me, if I'm not working at my job then I'm at home in bed modding things here and there on my laptop :o or shopping :)
Maybe a testing section? Like what kinds of things to look in a rom before releasing, like benchmarks, bugs, kinks, theming, UI, etc..?

Sure, anything and everything can be useful!

I have an old programming book, Secrets of the Mac Game Programming Gurus, which is written in a community style by a small group of real programmers with real experience on commercial games. This is kinda the image I have for Oven Rack. A reference complete and definitive put together by real devs, themers and testers who have real experience in the field. My goal is to make this useful not only for Warp users and devs, but to everyone in the Android community. They'll be able to go to Oven Rack and say, "Oh, okay, here's what they did on this ROM with this issue." or, "Ah, so that's how they tackled this on the Warp." and get ideas and inspiration for whatever project they're working on.

Lol I looked into activating my phone by the day just to help test MMS... well not only that (also because my free offline GPS software sent me way of course yesterday and I'd rather use Google)but anyway based on my address they won't activate it for me since there are no Sprint towers closer than ~20 miles.

Did you ever try Sygic?

I'll start theming framework-res even more (slow but steady progress...) as soon as I can get my rom stabilized. I figure I still have a bit a time and right now mms seems to be the biggest priority with this rom.

How bout this one...:
...

"Houston, we have a problem. We'd send you a picture of it if we could, but we can't. We never received any pictures from home either."

:(

So basically, it won't send mms either now. I checked the apn settings and it was as void of apns as outer space. I did not receive mms since I couldn't send it to myself either. Sorry :/

But really great...totally worth it...it has a built in alarm for when you approach a speed camera... :p

Yeah I imagine it's worth it... I live on a ridiculously limited income though. Just about 700 per month. So even if it's worth it as a GPS app...it's not worth more to me than paying my rent lol. I didn't know that about the speed cameras though.

After that last GPS sent me so far out of the way I got really upset and FLEW home lol:

Well at least he knows whatever he did that made it more broken lol!

Thanks for testing it out! :)

I sort of anticipated the sending to take a beating but it's too bad you can't give it a test with an other phone because I'm trying an other angle here. Through the whole spectrum of tests performed at this point, and through discussions with Jim who says the mms works perfectly without vdmc or an apn... I went back to basics and took an other look at the mms.apk for the pmib07 and the bstb10 so in the last test version the mms apk is the pmi and I modified the custom_config to have the boost user agent.. I can't test it myself I wish I could but I think we can get this going...

ROTFL...:p

@anmire, I truly apologise for wasting your time yesterday, I left something important out by accident...

This is what I wanted to test:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/ucvacdq693i4jmh/Alliance_Alpha%23Idontknowanymore%283.7%29_MMS_WIFI_TEST.zip

If anybody could test this, This one may not send mms but it might receive... I think I'm on to something but it's a trial and error situation and I can't try it so I'm in a bad spot.... I really appreciate you guys testing all this stuff out and giving your time as you do... :)

I shall do my best! If anyone could send me mms in case sending it to myself on this fails, please message me! :)

Also, it's really not a problem vartan :D

Edit: it was only an hour, not a problem XD

So, i'm 90% sure that mms doesn't work. APN settings are empty on loading, and when I got my brother to send a picture, I never even received the message. He sent it twice, just to be sure. can another person verify what I've experienced?

I can't do these tests but Jim assures me that APN is not necessary...he made a test with a b10 rom, removed vdmc altogether and still had mms working both ways even without the APN settings. So it might not work but it's not because of the blank field...

Correct. I removed vmdc sprint.jar and created a test build of DS. Mms still worked. There has to be something hidden in the system identifying the phone as a pmi unit on the boost network. I found some evidence of that in services.jar. I edited the necessary files and still could not receive mms.
